Re the whole Epstein thing.

I feel the same way about it that i do for all conspiracy theories. Does anyone really think if there was some truth it would not have come out?

Trump says some creepy things and has been convicted of some awful things but being a pedophile is not one of them. Same as Biden doing some weird things but he is not running some conspiracy from a pizza shop.

All that it does is take away from the proper discussion that people should be having now like was there any impact from government cuts that may have reduced warning times on the texas floods (note I am not saying yes or no as it has to be too early to figure that out)

Come on here's your chance to prove your claim you are only interested in genuine honest consideration of stuff happening in the world.

Not sure what this has to do with Trump, but no matter. I actually know very little about German politics, but attached below is what I found on Wiki about AfD.

My insights? Extremism exists at both ends of the political spectrum, but all we seem to hear about is far right extremists. Increasingly it seems to me that anyone holding conservative values is branded a “nazi”.

But what about the far left? Here are some questions that might be useful to help frame our discussion about stuff happening in the world;

• Would you agree that open borders is an example of a far left policy?
• Is anti-semitism far left or far right?
• What distinguishes far left from centre left in your mind?
• What distinguishes a conservative from a far right extremist in your mind?
• Is far left extremism more acceptable than far right extremism?
• eg are rioters justified in stopping ICE officers arresting illegal immigrants?
• Do you agree with Lenin that the goal of socialism is communism? (See below)

I know you are generally more comfortable asking rather than answering questions, but I am genuinely interested in your thoughts, to better understand where you are coming from. Hopefully this can be the start of a more fruitful dialogue.

Look I am sure there is some dodgy stuff but considering there was a Biden Whitehouse etc as if they would not have done something with it

If anyone genuinely believes Trump is on the list & the democrats kept it under wraps they are beyond delusional. Not saying he is a great person but Biden threw the kitchen sink at him in terms of legal warfare, this would have ended Trump instantly.

Rather that try to answer all those Qs, here’s my 1st thought on seeing the Germany article -
banning a political party? Banning an idea? Or belief? Hmm, how does that usually work out.

It reminded me of NSW recently banning Nazi symbols – but they haven’t even defined ‘Nazi’.

Maybe this ties in with your point about ‘anyone holding conservative values is branded a “nazi”… fair point.

Everyone knows the swastika and presumably everyone knows the Nazis were committed to extermination of Jews. But does banning a symbol deepen anyone’s understanding of how a modern industrial nation could get to the point of actually murdering millions based on supposed race? Not to mention it doesn’t help expose offensive policies (or explain why they may be offensive) of other white nationalist or neo-Nazi groups because they may use a different symbol?? It almost seems a taboo topic to discuss how Nazi Germany could ever have happened. Which leads to a lack of clarity, plenty of fuzzy thinking and grey areas, such as - any criticism of Israel being labelled anti-semitic, for example (seems a fair bit of this in the US at present.)
