Your opening line demonstrates the futility of trying to have a meaningful discussion with you. Of course you only think in absolute terms like yes/no. You don’t seem to have any capacity for balance or nuance. You’re either a “denier” or you’re not. Seems rather “closed minded” of you.

Of course I am not seriously advocating that Australia stops exporting coal. I thought it was obvious that I was using that to demonstrate the hypocrisy of the climate alarmist position, that yes, we are indeed heading to climate Armageddon, but hey, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t keep earning some trade dollars by exporting coal to the world’s largest carbon emitter.

As to your last statement, it is not clear whether you are being serious or not. Yes, I am aware China has a population in the billions, whereas Australia’s is in the millions. But I didn’t realise the atmosphere takes into account emissions on a per capita basis. Seems a rather ridiculous statement, but maybe I have read it incorrectly.

You may well be right! His tenure may even surpass Howard’s. I think it is highly unlikely any leader on any side in this day and age in Australia will survive for an extended period with the impact social media has had on the political landscape. I personally think his success in the recent election was more of a result of the poor performance of the Libs as opposed to the irresistible charisma of Albo!. Gee he has been receiving heckles and boos at events for quite some time. This usually happens more so in the second and third terms of a prime ministership…but social media has significantly speeded up the life cycle of a leader from popular/ do no wrong to on the nose….time will tell!

No one is changing anyones mind by talking on here. I am interested to read what is said because I like to hear the alternative to what I believe. It is struggle to not post toxic replies (something I have been guilty off)

We are far better off leaving this as a place where we can articulate our positions under the assumption that others will talk and maybe challenge us but, ultimately, nothing will change.
