How Long have you been a Manly fan?
Since '76
What convinced you to follow the Sea Eagles?
Grew up in the country so didn't have any geographical allegiances. Next door neighbour was a Manly fan and I used to get his "hand me downs". Scored a Manly jumper off him and they happened to win the comp that year so that was good enough for me.
Name your favourite Manly memory?
1978 GF replay and 1987 GF
What is your favourite Manly uniform?
Pioneer sponsored White with Maroon hoops.
What is your favourite Manly game?
The St George touch up was good because I have lots of mates who are Dragons fans. Any win over Parra also makes me smile.
Worst Manly memory?
'95 Grand Final loss. We were the stand out side that year, and only lost 3 games, one of which happened to be the GF (and in controversial circumstances). Very disappointing. The debacle against Cronulla last year was one of the most embarrassing performances I have ever witnessed from a Manly side, it shamed the memory of the great 70's sides.
What was your support during the merger:
Non existant. I couldn't cop the merger, it didn't seem right that a club with such a strong history could just fade away like that. I was so pleased when we returned in our own right.
All time favourite player(s)?
Terry Randall, Russel Gartner, Phil Blake and Beaver.
Current favourite player(s)?
Beaver will go down as one of the greats. Have a lot of respect for Kennedy and I hope that Brett Stewart and Watmough will realise their potential and go onto being legends with 200+ games in the Maroon and White.
How are you a True Supporter?
If you are using the MSE definition than I'd rather not put myself in that category, too many mattress pumpers in that club.
How do you rate Manly's chances in 2006?
I think we have bought well with Orford and Bell and a lot will depend on their contribution. 5/8 is still a bit of a worry and I think we lack a bit of starch up front to be a genuine top 4 threat. We should make top 8 otherwise I'll be disappointed. Probably finish between 6th and 8th.
