Trials about working out / testing things you do not know. As an example what is the benefit for someone like a Jake playing? If anything the less he plays the better for his body

I understand your philosophy and I agree with all you said feathered friend
But I also see trials are also a Test of Ability , Character , Resilience, and Hunger to win .
As far as players that sit out and that do not play, They give other players the opportunity to show their worth
A competitive environment is essential in getting the best of the playing group
Every one can be replaced and everyone should compete for their spot
There should be No room for complacency .
All players should sit and take Notice at their Manly Team mates busting their balls this weekend .
Because a team needs Hungry Ball Busters to Win Premierships

Could the coaching team be giving the younger ones the ability this weekend to show their worth?

Fletcher Myers on the wing for souths. He looked like he had some skill and loads of time in a trial game for us a couple of years ago. Thought he has at newy.
Looking forward to see how these middle players go, SKO will have a few eyes on him after two years away and having injury concerns.
Zane Dunford is a player that’s had a good offseason I am told and out of the younger players Hugo Hart has been playing SG Ball since joining the club and has an opportunity against the older players, must have impressed a few to get this opportunity having limited Rugby League experience.

What I enjoy the most about trials is seeing how the newbies go. I agree with the established players with a history of injuries not playing all trials but there is nothing like match fitness and you don't get that watching.

Think the halves combo of Matterson and Arthur is interesting .
Had the impression that Matterson not really that suited to a 6 role but not a bad turn of speed and general footy awareness
, Maybe has had a good off season and an opportunity to show a bit of versatility and playing ability again
Thought Arthur goes better at 6 but looks like an opportunity to show what he can manage as a 7 for whatever reason .
Think that Charlie Thompson is an outside back and a heap of other young and no doubt willing up and comers given the opportunity to show something . Willett looks like a big and agile unit
Taukeiaho and Chee Kam ideally still up to a good standard and can have a good injury free run
Wonder how much better Lehi can go as a full back

Don’t know three quarters of them unfortunately, I know it’s only a trial but it’s hard to get excited about the game especially if I have to pay to watch it.
Each to their, I've a lot of interest in this game.
Very keen to see Hoppa, Willett, Arthur, Taukeuahio, Simpkin, Navale, GCKT, Paseka, Patolo, Dunford, Pua'avase, Hayley and Hart.
Swann the only name I'm not familiar with.
Also will watch Humphries with interest. If Souths win and he plays alright some here will blow up

I think he played a fair few games in the NRL for the Bunnies last season. And yeah, I thought he looked promising when he was with us as well. Returned to Newcastle for a while, I think due to homesickness, but ended up at Souths.

Was at the Vermin last year. Played a bit of first grade. Looked ok without being a standout.
