I sent Hughes this email:

Graeme,

As a fan of the Premiers, I just want to say how good it was to hear
that Kieran Foran is staying  at Manly for less money than what he
could have earned at the Bulldogs.
I recall you saying immediately after Des Hasler signed with the
Bulldogs that you feared for what sort of roster Manly would be able
to field in 2013. You were mistakenly of the belief that Des Hasler
was some sort of pied piper and that hordes of Manly players would
follow him. Not to be I'm afraid, particularly as the one Des wanted
the most (Foran) has rightfully seen that his football will improve
the most by staying put. Well done Foz and bad luck Bulldogs, I really
feel bad for you ... Not.

Tooves is good with the media. Speaks with a smile on his face. Doesn't shoot from the hip. Throws in a joke or two. Early days but I grow more confident everyday with him at the helm.

From day one he has been adamant that the Eags will keep all the playing group. Even if we don't win the GF that alone would be massive achievement considering the circumstances.

Yep you can tell Tooves is grinning while doing this interview. He's handling the top gig very well so far & unlike other NRL coaches out there doesn't have a permanent look like he's carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.
