Tom T's performance last night was a reality check for himself and all the backslappers that think he is ready to take over from Snake

His positional play was worse than even Hiku on the wing. He is not playing under 20's anymore, so crazy going for intercepts while letting tries in cannot happen again.

I hope someone is actually coaching him on positional play as he will be playing wing for a while yet. His bother Jake could give Tim T and most of the pack tackling coaching - he is excellent.

Tafau is the better winger at this stage of Tom T' S career. Tafau was good last night and seems over his shoulder problems.

Both are playing great football at the moment . Tom T is progressing and will be ready next season and Jorge is getting better every game .

Well if Snake left for whatever reason Hiku could go to fullback. Or next Gutherson who played for Australia there. We have options. Tom T isn't the immediate successor to the #1. He needs to be able to handle first grade in the wing first.

But as I said last night, the kids 19. He should still be playing NYC. People on here need to settle down as far as having a dig at him goes.

Bigger question is what youth has Tooves developed? He ****ing hates giving them a go. It's always a last resort and only after dog**** guys like Hasson are out or some crap that they eventually get a run. I still think Tom T only got in because of ownership wanting to get some positive press. If it was up to Tooves Williame or Blair would still be playing.

Tom has years of development ahead of him to get to the same level as Tafua is now. However in the long term Tom will be the better player.

Not Tommy Turbos greatest game last night, but that's fine. It's all about development in my opinion. As long as he has a level head (which I keep hearing he does) this is good for him. I personally don't want him thinking first grade is easy, if he does he'll never be great. Good for him to toughen up and see what first grade is all about, and challenge himself to get better.

I like the kid he has years of physical and mental building yet but to me is not out of place in first grade. Plus even though he is a string bean he still rolls the sleeves up and has a go at the tough stuff.

I agree It would be nice to start bringing up some juniors for firsts. Demetriou would be my first pick. I can't understand why he can't get some time on from the bench., he would be better thans some of the rubbish there. I don't know what the coaching staff at manly are doing, too many hangers on down there doing nothing and having a good time. Young Tom T positional play besides his defence was no good. He is not quick enough to play there and get back into position. Tom is a fullback and not a winger. But on the 5th tackle, Tom should be dropping back and get ready for the kick to catch the ball if it comes his way, not moving up with the rest of the pack. As a winger you have to read the game very well and be confident as its a bloody hard position to play and a specialist position. You pick players to play in their correct positions otherwise its no good or buy players that are specialised to play there

Besides being gifted they are acting as an extra forward bringing the ball up and from scoops in attack but in defense they know to get quickly back into position. Wingers can go looking for the ball in attack, but have to be careful they don't miss getting back if the opposition gets hold of the ball and happen to run down their wing and score

No doubting wingers can be totally crucial to a team. If Tom T is not a specialist winger where should he have started?

Anyone calling out Tommy's positional play has obviously never played on the wing before.

The first try was definitely not T Turbo's fault, it was a simple 2 on 1 overlap and a good cutout pass, Tommy went for the intercept which was the only thing to do in that situation.

The second try was a good tackle on the souths winger and got him into touch, unfortunately he managed to throw it back in field as he was going out (potentially forward).

The third try was probably the only one where his positioning could have been better but even then, it was early on in the tackle count and a great kick, most wingers would have been caught out. He's 19, give the kid a break, he's a fantastic player and the loss last night was definitely not his fault.
