Tof Sipley

Maybe Taukeiaho , Patolo and Tevaga are really impressing in pre season training but would still be a few caveats to relying on all 3 to deliver consistently in the middle or offer a definite improvement on having Alioia or Sipley there.
Alioia is no doubt still on some good coin so additional issues trying to arrange satisfactory freight matters .
Sipley still has some things going for him as well
Interesting and maybe a few worthwhile options are being considered but would be doing well in getting a net plus in the present player market situation

Manly is barely adequate in front row depth even with Toff and Aloia. At least they are tough and experienced, though hardly dynamic.
Not sure how it could strengthen the squad to release one or both of those two.
Agree 100% unless there’s a big something happening in return , maybe 1 big and they upgrade Patolo

If the club were to release both, the coaching staff really would be changing the direction up front. Ohh could it mean Jurbo is actually moving to Prop..
Just playing devil's advocate here BUT if the coaching staff are really changing direction, could we end up with a pack like this?

8. Paseka
9. Tevaga
10. Jake
11. Patolo
12. Olakau'atu
13. Taukeiaho

14. Simpkin
15. Bullemore
16. Molo
17. Brown

Would make sense, now that we have three legitimate lock options that we didn't have even a little over a year ago; Tevaga, Brown and Navale. May also indicate that Tevaga has proved himself, and Navale is progressing well.

If everyone remembers, Jake was moved to prop when Seibs first came here, and was averaging 100m+ per game, but of course Aloiai and Keppie were awful lock forwards so he went back to lock. We have legitimate options, and even some depth now in Jake, Waddell, and Taukeiaho.

Talked to a few Bulldogs fans and Patolo was only a second-rower as a junior, but played a singular NSW cup game there. Don't think he'd end up as anything but a prop but happy to be proven wrong.

Personally I'm thinking:

8. Paseka
9. Simpkin
10. Jake
11. Haumole
12. Ben (apparently "training the house down")
13. Tevaga

14. Lehi
15. Taukeiaho / Navale
16. Bullemor
17. Patolo

That is AWFULLY slow mate.

I'm not sure who'd win in a 50m dash out of Tevaga, Jake, Taukeiaho, Molo and Brown, but I'm sure it would be a very exciting 10 minutes.

We need a combination of mobility , speed , power and endurance in the forwards.
Not seeing that with most of our forwards. New era in the game that requires a fast , mobile and powerful pack not lumbering plodders.
Yep the game has changed and something that the Drizzle & the Riff have plenty of

If we get Aloiai and Sipley off our books, that could free up $900k.
If we promote Patolo into the top 30 on min contract, that would still give us around $750k to bring in a SOO quality player.

Liking these moves if they are to eventuate. We can finally move Jake to prop and buy some impact off the bench.

Interesting times ahead!

I see on the club website ( or app ) there’s only 28 listed.

So we two available spots

Now they always keep one up their sleeves for a mid year signing , so we are at least one short at this point.

If we lose the above two we’d be 4 short.

Even if Patolo is good enough to be elevated we are still short by a couple.

To be honest I think it’s probably crap , and we’ll be stuck with AoA & Sipley.

But it’s a crazy world so who knows

I think Hoppa has one of those two vacant spots

Maybe that's why Lodge is tagging along on those training runs with the Turbo's at camp Narrabeen. ...just puting it out there..
