Titans axe Garth Brennan

I find it curious how the fellow running the review becomes the interim coach. It must be a conflict of interest particularly when the reviewer wants the job. Sounds like the review was simply a means to an preordained end.

Mal won't be coach. He will "oversee" the interim coaches but does not want the gig.

Maybe some of you titans of Industry and Commerce can correct me ... but in my experience ... nobody in the history of the world who has been paid to do a "review" has ever come back after a couple of months and said ... "hey, everything is just fine and dandy" .... my consultancy fees were a waste of money ....

The away teams fans seem to always out number the Tits fans at their own home games.
Says it all really.

I can't think of another team this happens to..... ever.

Yep and along with what @redlineg wrote that is their problem.
I've said it before, from what I've seen most people on the Goldie have moved from somewhere else - Sydney, Brisbane etc - so they have their own teams that they still support.
As much as the Titans may be their second team, if that second team isn't any better than their #1 team then they aint worth going to watch either.

I just don't get how the Gold Coast are such an abject failure as an NRL area. How many goes have they had at it - 3 or 4 incarnations now ?? and it's still a basket case. They get a brand new state of the art stadium gifted to them, they have been bailed out and propped up by the NRL - what is the fascination with having a team based there ?? Maybe someone from up that way can offer an opinion but I struggle to see why they can't be competitive as seemingly they have so much going for them. 2 finals appearances in 12 years with the current set up, can't remember much more success from the Giants or Chargers apart from a 7"s win from memory.
Actually, the ground at Robina is a noose around Gold Coast's neck. We see that they were given a state of the art stadium, the previous owners were complaining about being stitched up by the Qld State Government by signing such a long lease and an expensive one as well.
I still recall the Gold Coast that was kicked out because of the merger with Super League, had a $1 million in the bank.

It seems that if a team is running last and doesn't have a favourite in the media, it gets suggested as 'team may be moved'!!!!!!

Last year it was us, Quite relentless at the time. Now it's only spaceman freddie saying move to rat park so his wife's cafe can do well.

This year it's the Titans. All of a sudden there's ribot and johns lurking around with heaps of businessmen and massive dollars to get the tits to brisvegas.

You don't get canterbury because 1) Bulldog ritchie, and 2) too many pokie machines lining their pockets.

If we get teams all over the country, where will "monkey typists" claim teams will be moving to then?

Gold Coast executive chairman Dennis Watt has refuted reports that the club is set to relocate to Brisbane.

A Nine News report on Wednesday night claimed that a syndicate of rugby league “heavy hitters”, including former Melbourne bosses John Ribot and Chris Johns, were at the centre of a move to rebrand the franchise in Queensland’s capital.

However, Watts dismissed those claims and assured fans the club wasn’t about to pack up shop.

“For the benefit of Titans Members, fans and sponsors, here are the facts: We are the Gold Coast Titans, and that is how we will stay,” Watt said.

Gold Coast halfback Ash Taylor will return to playing this weekend with Queensland Cup team Tweed Heads.

Taylor last played in the Titans’ 6-4 NRL loss to North Queensland in June, where he passed up the chance to take a potentially decisive penalty kick.

The 24-year-old was shortly afterwards granted personal leave.

The Gold coast are a one town club and are on the bottom of the ladder
The Bulldogs are a rich club and are on the bottom of the ladder
The Broncos are both a one town club and are a rich club and are on the bottom of the ladder
The Moral of the story ?
A clubs best asset are the people that run it
