Never in there history have they had owners who could afford it or a decent coach. Michael Searle also destroyed so much of the fan base by dudding so many local businesses. That bad taste is still felt in the community for the Titans.I just don't get how the Gold Coast are such an abject failure as an NRL area. How many goes have they had at it - 3 or 4 incarnations now ?? and it's still a basket case. They get a brand new state of the art stadium gifted to them, they have been bailed out and propped up by the NRL - what is the fascination with having a team based there ?? Maybe someone from up that way can offer an opinion but I struggle to see why they can't be competitive as seemingly they have so much going for them. 2 finals appearances in 12 years with the current set up, can't remember much more success from the Giants or Chargers apart from a 7"s win from memory.
You may have a point there feathered friend .......Titans need to move to Redcliffe.
Their location is just a transit lounge 😎
That stadium is now gone and is full of houses. The gold coast have never got the gold cosat. Moving from tweed was crazy. Best place ever to watch footy. Absolutely loved it, leagues club, reasonable food and beer and the greatest rubbish delivery system ever under the stands. Loved the steak sangers off the barbie and a 6er of cans on the way to your seat . Great view.
They have probably missed the boat but they should have established themselves in logan and played from the goldie. Something in beenleigh a major presence with a centre of excellence, training facilities . Great nursery. Train from beenleigh to robina for fans. Just better exposure. Less players would live in sin city as well probably establishing themselves in brissie, sanctuary cove or southport dur to freeway congestion.
They could be a powerhouse but they have never been too bright about what a business needs. It was so close down the road but it will never happen now

As a local, I will give my tow cents.I just don't get how the Gold Coast are such an abject failure as an NRL area. First and most important is identity. The Burleigh Bears have been going since 1934, and when the Gold Coast got their License, started off with Giants, SeaGulls, Titans etc. Locals still support Burleigh at Pizzey Park. If we are trying to compare, Manly Supporters did not kindly take on the 'Northern Eagles' for a similar reason. If the NRL took its head out of its backside for a moment, renamed the Titans the Burleigh Bears, and then ensured that the ISC Game is Scheduled prior to the NRL game, support will develop. Why have 4-8k going to one game at Pizzey Park and slightly more going to Robina- Have them all going to the same location!
Second is the Location - Robina Stadium, this is a big state government screw up. We all know in Sydney that Home Grounds with Leagues Clubs nearby go off! With a home ground in Robina and post game celebrations in Parkwood, who can get excited by this. Unfortunately the State Govt lost their opportunity to develop adjacent land next to Robina into a carpark and leagues club and went with townhouses instead. The best alternative would be to link up with the Burleigh Bears in nearby Miami, and drop Parkwood!
Third is the Has-Beens, for some reason the Gold Coast Franchise seems to be a haven for NRL Has-beens to come and semi retire. We need some competitive, premiership hungry players who want to put in for the jersey and
Finally, the Coach - as we found out at recent years at Manly, you need a coach who wants to win more than the players and willing to make the changes to get that happening. A coach of Des Hasler or Geoff Toovey's calibre would work wonders
Don;t get me wrong, I am a Manly Supporter, however, like most Manly Supporters living up here, the Gold Coast are our 'second' favourite team and deserve more
Cheers
Don't blame the locals, blame the NRLGreat post, found myself nodding in agreement the whole way through. The whole franchise needs to read this post.
Israel’s people.Instead they have a fan base of Polynesian Logan based hill-songers and everyone on the coast who is already a supporter of someone else or afl.
Can we work our black magic on ParraIt looks like we are living up to our reputation as being Coach Killers yet again with the sacking of Garth Brennan seeing as though we are the last team that he coached against and lost.
How many coaches is that now?
