Time-out zone

Might as well put a f*cking play pen there as well for the players to play in.

I'm too p*ssed off to look at anything this germ says objectively.
His time would be better served giving the coaches more time before having to front the media after having their season stolen from them.
Anyway, how many storm or parramatta players are going to be in the f*cking 'timeout zone'?
=0 !!!

Another rule that would encourage the divers of the game. It's a bad enough look already.

Gburg has lost the plot.

I love the rule, and have brought it up a number of times saying it should be introduced after i first heard the idea from someone a few years ago (but make it inside 10 not 20). Sad thing is I have zero faith in the refs to police it consistently and appropriately, or the coaches to not abuse it in the current climate of the game.

off topic a bit..
We can get all blue in the face about the poor refereeing, square ups, bias etc.. with good reason a lot of the time, but the coaches seem to be getting away scot free here on a lot of things but crying foul the loudest which the media then jumps on because... clicks!
Plays are devised to take advantage of rules / changes etc a lot of the time (wrestling, slowing ruck, obstructions, blocking etc) - as they are of course entitled to do, and you'd be a fool to think they wouldn't try it while they are getting away with it - but it is a major cause of putting the refs under pressure and ultimately giving the confidence of a spud because after the rules have been tweaked so much, so quickly to make things 'entertaining' rather than a 'game of footy', so many things just aren't black & white when most probably really could be. If they were coaching pure footy as was the case back in the day (and still is in much of the lower grades / country leagues etc) - there'd be much less drama, but they are coaching to bend the rules as far as they can to get the advantage. Can't have their cake and eat it too when things don't go their way.

More tinkering with the rules. Surely you've done enough damage Greenturd to this once glorious game. I can imagine it - a ref checking with the Vidiot Bunker Ref to check if the alleged offender was within the 20-metre line, or had his foot on the line which meant he was out, or had two feet behind the last defender, or was wearing a Manly jersey....
This bald bowling ball has had a brain fade. If you want to reduce penalties introduce a five-minute sin bin. We've been calling for this for years. Stuff making it specific to a particular area of the field.
We want simplification, not further complication.

That would be a terrible rule to implement. Such a huge disadvantage for committing a penalty that may have been accidental/harsh. As mentioned it would also increase the ridiculous diving by players

Referee sCam smith is far too busy to be enforcing yet another new rule!

This is exactly what we need.
More and more rules to muddy the waters and create more drama.

Is NRL even a sport anymore , or a TV mini-series ?

Umm...they can always have a penalty shot at goal, you know Todd?
Thats why it's worth two points because you're getting penalised, play the long game, get up there again and if they concede another penalty goal...
Re-introduce the 5 min sin bin too.

Yet another novelty idea from Todd&co.Next idea will be a player who gets penalised for an infringement in the 20 has to have one arm tied behind his back and wear a propeller hat.
Here's an idea, enforce the rules that are already there, use the sin bin

I used to work in process improvement (Lean Six Sigma for those that care). I always found businesses that had tweaks, work arounds and always created new rules were at the core stuffed. The simplest approach always reduces opportunity for error, the more rules put in place outside of requirements for proper and legal functioning the more issues you face - Im looking at you now NRL

I'd much rather see them police the play the ball. The game this year has been pretty much touch football
