I love the rule, and have brought it up a number of times saying it should be introduced after i first heard the idea from someone a few years ago (but make it inside 10 not 20). Sad thing is I have zero faith in the refs to police it consistently and appropriately, or the coaches to not abuse it in the current climate of the game.
off topic a bit..
We can get all blue in the face about the poor refereeing, square ups, bias etc.. with good reason a lot of the time, but the coaches seem to be getting away scot free here on a lot of things but crying foul the loudest which the media then jumps on because... clicks!
Plays are devised to take advantage of rules / changes etc a lot of the time (wrestling, slowing ruck, obstructions, blocking etc) - as they are of course entitled to do, and you'd be a fool to think they wouldn't try it while they are getting away with it - but it is a major cause of putting the refs under pressure and ultimately giving the confidence of a spud because after the rules have been tweaked so much, so quickly to make things 'entertaining' rather than a 'game of footy', so many things just aren't black & white when most probably really could be. If they were coaching pure footy as was the case back in the day (and still is in much of the lower grades / country leagues etc) - there'd be much less drama, but they are coaching to bend the rules as far as they can to get the advantage. Can't have their cake and eat it too when things don't go their way.
