Three players set to be targeted by ASADA over use of banned peptide CJC-1295

Let's put it this way buddy. If it hasn't been leaked by Asada whose leaked it.
You really don't have much imagination do you? You think an employee of a public agency who know that a confidentiality breach would probably cost them their job is going to talk to the papers about this? Seriously?

So ...who could possibly have told the papers? Tough one. Hey, I know! Don't you think there are journos around who have been cultivating contacts within the clubs for many years? Don't you think the clubs would have been told which of their players would be required for interviews? So …let me see …Which clubs can you think of that never leak information to the media? None??

My point is simply this – why jump to conclusions yet again? Especially when the conclusion you embrace seems highly unlikely (at least 'in my opinion'.)

I understand the point your making mate but I put nothing past the holt street filth. They were able to get a hold of Brett's DNA results back in 2009 when they weren't supposed to.

I read that whoever is found to have leaked info from asada is liable for 2 years imprisoment. Seems like the daily tele know who's who before the actual player know . Asada - amateur's inc - more use as a sieve

I have been feeling sorry for the Sharks but now Manly are back involved this has been the worst investigation in the history of sport and the amount of information being leaked to the media has been horendous.
No matter what comes out in the end it all should be tainted because of all the leaked information.

"Holt St filth' is News, not ASADA. You'll have to refresh my memory about that one Cambo, but either way it had nothing to do with ASADA.

I don't know anyone in ASADA and they may be the most slipshod crew in the country. However, it is hilarious how so many posters can't wait to denounce them without any evidence, based only on speculation from sources with a vested interest. It is quite obvious to me the real hatred of ASADA arises from the fact they are disrupting our sporting fantasies, making it hard for us to avoid thinking about the real world when all we want to do is pretend it isn't there.

Seriously hard to see Snake doing anything dodgy with his diabetic background

1 of the others of ours I was told is equally as unlikely to be involved in any of this rubbish either

All players, including Manly players, should refuse to participate in interviews until a full investigation is completed to find where confidentiality was breached.

Players Association - where are you!!!!!!

So they named Snake and Choc but who are the other 3 current Manly players ?
Two ball boys and the mascot. Snake and Choc grab headlines so News Ltd are having their fun. They're also interviewing Dessie and staff he took with him. Basically anyone with a Dank link will be interviewed. It's a little unsettling but I'm not nearly as concerned about Manly as when this all began.
ASADA are total f..heads though for their timing. Begin the season with all this scandal, put it on hold and bring it back for the finals. Wankers.

Let's just see the outcomes for Essendon and it's players. If nobody gets suspended or the club has points deducted for the things they have allegedly been up to then no one in rugby league should have anything to concern themselves about.

Snake has been in epic form. Just hope this garbage doesn't mentally affect him.

So sick of all this asada rubbish it ruined the start of the season and now it blows up again leading into thr finals. If nothing comes of the investigation I hope asada and the media is held accountable.

I don't know why they keep revisiting in the media about Manly's systems as the club's inhouse programs from past years including calves blood have been cleared by ASADA.

They are now looking for what individual NRL players did outside of their club ffs.

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/confident-manly-keep-the-faith-before-asada-interviews-over-supplements-20130804-2r7ps.html

As their officials and players prepare to be quizzed by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority, Manly are maintaining their confidence in the programs that led to their staff having to front the drugs body, starting this week.

It's believed coach Geoff Toovey and head trainer Don Singe will be interviewed this week by ASADA officials. Interviews with Manly players will follow this month.

The microscope has been turned on the Sea Eagles after the publication of the identities of some of the 30 players who will be interviewed by ASADA as part of their investigation into supplement use in sport.
Reports have stated that NSW representatives Anthony Watmough and Brett Stewart are set to be interviewed. Fairfax Media has been told that up to six Manly players have received requests for interviews, along with Toovey and Singe, as well as former coach Des Hasler and his support staff Kelly Egan and Clayton Kearney.

Also named were former Sea Eagles players Darcy Lussick (now at Parramatta) and Dean Whare (at Penrith).

One of the players believed to have been given an interview request was not at the club during the period the club employed controversial sports scientist Stephen Dank, between 2006 and 2010.

The Sea Eagles were cleared by ASADA of systematic doping in March.

And despite the number of staff members required for interviews, the club's officials are still reiterating their faith in the procedures in place during the period ASADA is investigating.

The Sea Eagles face the distraction of the ASADA interviews as they look to confirm a top-four position. But sources maintained that, following the Manly interviews, ASADA would not be in a position to issue any infraction notices until after this season.

Cronulla have returned from Auckland buoyed by their 18-14 victory over the Warriors, but face the resumption of their interviews with ASADA.

Ten Cronulla players will be interviewed, starting this Tuesday.
ASADA investigators want to quiz skipper Paul Gallen, as well as Jayson Bukuya, Nathan Gardner, Stewart Mills, John Morris, Ben Pomeroy, Ben Ross, Nathan Stapleton, Anthony Tupou and Matthew Wright out of the current Sharks line-up. Penrith, also cleared by ASADA in March, have been dragged into the investigation because of the investigators' desire to interview Whare, as well as Wes Naiqama, and another current Panthers player. All three players were at different NRL clubs during the period which is under ASADA investigation. Canberra player Sandor Earl is also expected to be interviewed over the alleged use of peptides to treat a shoulder injury while at Penrith in 2011.

''We are not commenting on anything that's been speculated, but I can assure all Panthers fans and sponsors that this club has absolutely nothing to worry about with regards to any ASADA investigation,'' said Penrith's executive general manager of rugby league, Phil Gould.

Just green light all drugs already, games will be faster, hits will be bigger and no one can be called a drug cheat.

As I said (probably a thousand pages ago) before in this thread:

I couldn't be less worried if the stress free pixies laid me down on fairy floss clouds and sprinkled 'relax, she'll be right' dust over my weary head.

Let's just see the outcomes for Essendon and it's players. If nobody gets suspended or the club has points deducted for the things they have allegedly been up to then no one in rugby league should have anything to concern themselves about.

After yesterdays effort, they should be looking for a refund from Dank!

MANLY are facing an uncertain future and legal action from at least eight players if they are accused by ASADA of doing something wrong.

To make matters worse, there is no certainty that majority share-holder and one of Australia's richest men Rick Penn will be there to bail the club out.

The Sunday Telegraph understands Penn is considering selling his shares in the club because of his strained relationship with part-owners Quantum.

Current players George Rose, Steve Matai, Richard Fa'aoso, Ben Farrar, Brett Stewart and Anthony Watmough have been asked to attend ASADA interviews.

Penrith's Dean Whare and Parramatta's Darcy Lussick - both former Eagles - will also be questioned in relation to their playing days at Brookvale.

The eight players are adamant they have done nothing wrong.

Coach Geoff Toovey and his predecessor and now Canterbury coach Des Hasler will also be interviewed.
The players have already been briefed by lawyers about potential outcomes of the club-initiated supplements program.

The request to interview beefy prop Rose has at least provided some light banter at Brookvale.

Of all the players in the NRL, he would be the last you would think would need any supplement to increase an already massive frame.

Any threat of legal action would place enormous pressure on Manly's finances.

Despite the team's successes in recent years, the Sea Eagles have been flat-out making an annual profit. The only thing that was working in their favour is the personal wealth of part-owner Penn.

Sources have revealed Penn has decided to sell his shares if the right buyer emerges, although he would stay with the club if Quantum got out.

Makes me feel very confident that nothing will eventuate, this being a Phil Rothfield article and all. He can't even get right the proper time to start drinking of a day.
