This sin bin edict....

The main issue for me will be the consistency of the sin bin, I can’t see the officials binning players like tonight in 4 weeks time.
just like when the refs were told to penalise every time players broke the rules by greenturd, the media screamed about all the penalties so they changed the way the game was refereed again.
the media dictates what happens & continually last night they complained about the use of the bin so i can't see it lasting long

Don't know what everyone is cranky about .
If it was that bad why weren't the first 3 highshots binned as well?

I think Sutton wanted to March their halfback for the first high hit and perenara overruled it (what a surprise)

my thoughts on it all is the nrl created this problem when they brought in fines instead of suspensions for high hit, there is a clear rise in incidents, so now they are getting heavy on the offenders on field, it’s all a bit crazy

I actually don’t mind the binnings, how long have people been complaining about getting no benefit in a game and the team they play the next week benefit from the ensuing suspensions

the nrl need to look at things from a wholistic perspective not fix one problem and create another

Are they still cracking down on foot touching the ball when you play it ??? Or was that last weeks crack down ?? What about players lying in the ruck, do you still get the penalty if you throw the ball into their head ?? or was that last year ?? I assume it's OK to do grapple tackles now as there has been plenty of contact with head and neck so far this season. I think that was the crackdown 2 seasons ago wasn't it ?? We need Matt Cecchin to ref a game and sin bin 6 players from each side to send a message on how seriously the NRL are taking this current crackdown.

All we need now is for someone to ban the knee-jerk reaction, which is the true long-standing blight on the game!!

The NRL are constantly chasing the "soccer mum" demographic, who won't let little Johnny play rugby league.

That's great, in theory, until they start losing all the existing fans due to completely changing the game.

And all for nothing, because little Johnny's mum is not going to let him play RL, regardless of what bull**** crackdown they come up with.

I'm fine with it..
Can't say we're cracking down on high tackles then do nothing after 3 previous ones...
The gamble send off may have been soft, and ide say if it was any other Bronco It may not have happened, but it was gambles 2nd high shot on the same bloke in a game where they actively told coaches they will send high shots to the bin, so honestly, wtf did ppl expect to happen?? Complaining for the sake of complaining

The NRL are destroying the fabric of the game with these stupid knee jerk reactions. All they needed to do was to give the refs a kick up the arse. Instead they give them a wider licence to interfere with the contest. Dumb Dumb Dumb.

Nailed it , 110%

Look at international rugby now, any contact with the head is a red card. One little slip, literally, and your team is a man down and will struggle to win.

Chasing soccer mums is stoopid. If the kids don't want to play rugby league, then what mummy thinks don't matter anyway.

The NRL got rid of punching after one punch in Origin sent the Victorian AFL media into a spin and one rugby union loving school teacher.

The MMA is an extreme example, but it is a success because it does not apologise for what it is.

If you don't like it, if it scares you, if you're worried about getting a head knock, then don't play it and don't watch it.

This situation is exactly why the NRL clubs should never have agreed to merge with the ARL to create the ARLC. The ARLC is concerned about the whole of the game. But they seem incapable of explaining that Under 7s footy at Penrith is not the same game as the NRL is.

If the ARLC is not careful some or all of the NRL clubs will walk away from the NRL/ARLC and start their own competition so they can run it as a business instead of an amateur sport. Like the NFL in America. The NFL donates a % of its profits to support the other levels of the sport, but it remains free to make its own decisions to grow the NFL.

It's all sh1ts and giggles tonight, but wait till Manly cop a couple in the bin like that. The Racing man is feckin the game - he's just doing it in a different way to his predecessor.

Just another talentless overpaid fizz d1ck with an out of control ego. Ken Arthurson and Dan Quayle must shake their heads and weep.

About the only thing V'Landys and his team are doing better is that the NRL doesn't seem to be haemorrhaging money. The knee-jerk reactions to things are still in place. I mean, lets face facts ... this sin bin edict is nothing more than a reaction to Robinson pointing out the incompetency of the officials and bunker after they missed the head high and knees last week.

Seriously, if Robinson had not pointed those things out in his post match presser last week, then 7 of the 8 sin-bins from last night's games wouldn't have happened. But because it was made public, the NRL did their usual knee-jerk, not think things through reaction and now we have a situation where players are being binned for the littlest things (not Riki, he deserved his. Headbutt's are best left to street fights and the WWE).

Only 2 sin bins from last nights games were for high contact, all the rest for slowing down play the ball, and 4 of them were in last last couple of minutes, so no dramas for me

Watching the 1st half of the Dogs Raiders game, and it's apparent that either this ref didn't read the memo, or the NRL have now changed the interpretations of rules mid round.
