Yes I think I'm up for Cletus getting a shot at hooker. We've got to get something happening around that ruck to spark this team. My only worry with him is how he'll handle the defensive workload and his level of commitment there. He should have a decent passing game, some vision and a kicking game from his time in the halves. It'd be good to have some options out of dummy half for a change. Leave Cullen or Api on the bench as utility.

Yes Fluffy. He is a 5/8 and hooker is a specialist position. I have said a few times on here how I can't believe people were saying we had so much depth at 9. We have no specialist hookers at Manly whatsoever which is probably the saddest indictment of our coaching at the moment.

Barrett was not vindicated. Parcel could pass and he dispatched him.

Having said that these players need to take just as much of the blame. Putting it all on a young coach is ridiculous. They were up 3 tries to nil and folded like tents.

From what I have seen I believe both Lane and Perret will keep us in good stead against the big packs
Hastings is another player with potential but can we have both small men Api and Hastings on the bench if we start with Cullen ?

In the limited time he (Cullen) was given, he did exceptionally well in his debut for the club. I can't find any passes that he threw that were substandard. His defence was excellent The majority of posters feel the same. Yet there are some who can not see anything but doom and gloom for this kid, it's like they go out of there way to find fault when there is none, they just keep making up negative and wrong assesments.

And there is that $1.5 million again. How much was each player on? Surely not $1.5 million together? As Donald Trump might say - Fake news?

Also, people keep saying Perrett was out. What in God's name has he ever done in rugby league? And AFB is hardly considered a big name. Mention him outside of the club and you get a blank stare. So, let us just say Tapau and Lussick were out, should we...just to be fair...

Ha ha yep very bad analogy as my camping days prove.

I agree with you re Hastings. The idea that a good half will easily make it at hooker is so prevalent these days yet hardly backed by great eaxamples; they are totally different specialist positions.

But in our case we need a guy who can pass and kick with precision which Hastings has shown. It is just plain crazy we have to scour our ranks for a guy who can pass to play hooker because we have no hookers at the club - yet that is where we are at. How can anyone build a team with no specialist 9 in an entire club. Ask the great Bozo I suppose.

Very sad for people to be calling for Cullen to be our saviour at 5/8

He is a pigmy and will have every opposition forward running at him for 80 minutes he will be trampled by half time

His passing is terrible as well

We were up 12 nil after 15 minutes and then fell apart because this team is so unfit they cannot last until half time let alone put in an 80 minute performance

When they walked off at half time they looked like they had just played 10 minutes extra time not 40 minutes

Ferris has us looking like a gold coast side

Tookey, we looked more fit than souths just before half time, they were so bunched up in attack as the old saying goes you could throw a tissue over them.

At half time we had 50% of possession.

The second half was 38% possession to us, the errors were not there this game either.

To be fair AFB is no big name but he is a big performer that takes some stopping . Also Perret is no big name but he is a big guy who bends the line unlike the lightweight bench we had that were driven backwards .
To be fair look at the other teams and you will see that we had the most lightweight and smallest bench
To be fair lets just say the cap figure was not 1.5 mil but to be fair 2 international quality players would be worth at least 1 mil . Also to be fair if we had that 1 mil to spend we would have at least 2 more quality players in our squad
