Definitely heading in the right direction ... next few years a big possibility .

Its been a long time since I've seen 60 minutes of absolute Manly dominance like that. I liked what DCE said during the presser keeping everything grounded. I reckon he will make a great Manly coach one day.

Dogs' defence will have them leapfrog us if we haven't improved in this area. We have a top 4 roster but if our defence is not top 4, then we won't improve on last year. Really simple.

Not sure whether this has been mentioned, but just going through the Manly draw and noticed 2 very important games that have been a hoodoo for us. This season no games at Leichhardt or Win Stadium. The 2 grounds we have the least success at. Hopefully that should be 4 points in the bag.

Have a look around at those looking to push into the top 8 and Top 4. They have all improved their rosters, whilst ours has barely changed. I have very little faith that we will suddenly develop a great defensive structure, and I have even less faith that our Captain will suddenly learn how to control a game instead of reverting to "Hail Mary" plays.

Souffs, Donkeys, goons et al will be pushing hard for the top 8. Who misses that was there last season? Perhaps Newcastle, but both 7th & 8th look shaky to me. Meanwhile, the top 6 from last season all look to me like genuine top 4 teams.

Can someone please explain to me how we climb the ladder, with no improvements in the forward pack roster, stuck with a hooker who is not a hooker and a 36-year leader who can't resist a good "Hail Mary" play when it is least needed. I'm all for optimism, but only when there is some, any justification.

But not Psychic.
Yes you see things others dont but mainly because they are ostriches with there heads buried deep in the ground, a few up there favourite players backsides

Too early in the season to really tell. Let’s see how we are tracking in say round 6 or 7. It is a very long season.

No idea, but if he's anything like the rest of the players on the team, he has no pulse. No pulse at all.

Still early days and I expected the loss, but the signs are frightening: our forward pack (which is somehow even older than it was last season) got smashed, mistakes and lack of discipline cost us all over the park, and we still have no idea how to defend. And our injury-prone fullback didn't finish the game. All of this is very familiar - so familiar that I don't even have the energy to be upset about it.

So for those of you who can still feel optimistic after a ****show like that, I salute you!

On the scale I just went from pretty optimistic to pretty pessimistic (which is probably exactly the same spot on the continuum, but for purposes of the survey... I changed my vote) 🙁

Its very groundhog day isnt it

Ive been at acceptance level for some time but reading they want to sign up dce for 2 more, jake and tom to end their carreers and possibly ben you just have to wonder

All of them might be ok price dependant i suppose but our team needs a hard edge and they simply are not providing it, or getting out of the way so someone else can, or even considering it as being required when you hear some speak

We are just going to play our game, our strengths, our way, which has merit if it hadnt been proven relentlessly its meritless

Nothing changes until we bite the bullet, but we lack bulletbiters
