I was there in the big freeze, winter of 1962-63. You'd find birds frozen solid on the ground that had fallen out of the trees overnight...

Do you remember this? It's been 55 years since The Great Freeze

I don't remember it, but I was only 4 years old that'ss boody cold though - it would finish me anything under 20degrees C has me rugging up in front of the fire
What am I saying - I was 11-12 🤦‍♂️ still don’t remember it though 😅

This is my favourite of his. Waves 30 foot plus on a lake. Apparently there have been around 250 shipwrecks in the area the Edmund Fitzgerald went down.

Didn’t know that about the 250 shipwrecks. Have heard that storms on the Great Lakes are worse than anything encountered in the Atlantic. Pretty scary place. The story of the Edmund Fitzgerald has always fascinated me.

A lot of them in pretty good condition as well. something about the cold temp and lack of oxygen (or something) keeps them like they day they went dooooon
