They reckon Captain Beefheart had a 8 octave voice which i find hard to believe.............call me a cynic but I don't think that was Gomer on vox......

Actually it may have been Beefheart who said he had an 8 octave voice..............Ry Cooder was a fan though....I seem to remember reading an article where Cooder abducted Beefheart and took him out to the desert and locked him in a shed saying he'd let him out if he sung on his new album, he said something like "There's only one guy who can handle these vocals" and Beefheart said "I don't do that **** anymore, I'm a painter now"........it may have been a dream though..........

I believe a lot of people would know that tune but not the name.
For us unwashed: Quentin Tarantino used it over the opening credits of "Pulp Fiction," giving the song a new veneer of retro cool, and the Black Eyed Peas sampled it prominently in "Pump It," their 2006 hit. That same year the song also appeared in a "Guitar Hero" video game.
This earlier version tis a bit different!
