Under the sticks just pondered whether Des and DCE will finish up this year, or if his belief that DCE will will chase the $$ due to Under the sticks view of DCE'S greediness for money.

How did that become a question as to who stuck it out at Manly between Foran and DCE to showcase who was the better man?
Yeah I was just linking three major figures at manly at one stage who all seemed to be close and potentially retiring at the same time.

Sorry didn’t intend to start world war 3.

Sticks you have every right to express an opinion and I wasn't attacking you for that. The issue was I felt your comment was somewhat unfair on DCE, and again that's OK if you feel that way. I was merely indicating that there are those out here who don't share that assessment. Its not about right or wrong, its about balanced discourse.

Cochrane's response was implying that I was initiating a DCE discussion and now suggesting I had done this before. I think he will find on each occasion I am responding to someone else initiating the issue and merely putting up a defence for DCE. If you read my entries that is a consistent tactic I use. Its called debate. I would do the same for Foran . I did it for Walker, Gutherson, Tom Wright, Weekes etc There seems to be this attitude that its OK to put forward a point of view someone supports but to take umbrage if its challenged. Debate doesnt work that way. But I have no issue about you expressing your opinion.

Have to take into account also that quite bad run Foz had with injuries when he did part ways with Manly after [ was it ? ] 2015 ,
Just really pleasing that he was able to however , to have a pretty good run injury wise when he did return for those couple of seasons in 21 - 22 and what a class act he was largely again ..
Even recall him having a couple of games at centre for Manly early on before he became established as a 6 . Just such a really good all round, gifted footy player
Arko once predicted that he could be a future Manly captain just before he came into i st grade
In different circumstances or outcomes , it could well have happened

Yeah, he's up there with my favourite players of all time as well. That era just had some outstanding talent, with Stevie Matai, Watmough and the Beaver up there in terms of Manly "DNA" as well.

Broke my heart when he left us, but gained enormous respect for him when he came out and spoke about the darkness that was surrounding him at the time. Bringing him back to the club was Manly's best decision over the last 10 years or so. Of course, we stuffed that up and my heart was broken again, but I've never wished him anything but the best the game and life can give him.

Great bloke to talk to, too. I'd run into him over the years around the beaches area at post offices, service stations and pharmacies, and he was always ready to talk and appreciative of any support. He was a bit warier when he was younger, but you could tell as he got older he more was comfortable with talking to fans. Probably just more comfortable in general.

Don't care how many other clubs he's played with or that he'll retire a Titan, he'll always be a Manly legend.
I was also very happy when he came back and he was awesome. He had that left edge humming and was great for club culture

Yeah he and dylan walker instead of DCE and schuster

I know contracts and stuff but swap those pairs at recruitment , and the coin, and we are a far superior team

What led us to retaining those guys on top dollar while releasing bargain competitors and the dollar difference ….wow

Just D C E "s longer kicking game to consider but Foz 's ability and proven record to so skillfully and effectively direct and manage attacking plays probably on balance , would have given more overall value then whatever D C E has offered over the years .
But then again , that bad run Foz had with injuries when he had that initial time away form Manly to add to the picture .
Guess that it all makes the what ifs here more then a bit problematic
So much based on hopeful expectation on Schuster and with his potential factor .
Mentioned often previously how i really rated Dylan Walker as a well performed 6 for Manly when he was given the role there and in hindsight [ which of course is easy now ] , would have given much more overall value then Schuster at 6 when they were both at the club together and with the regular availability factor

Jeez remember those early days with Foran , in defence he’d tackle anyone , the biggest prop forward , regardless , he was a ****ing lunatic !!

It’s a miracle he’s still playing at 35.
It’s sad but the breaks he took for mental health reasons probably got the rest of his body an extra season or two. The man is a freak in a good way and I’ll remember him for that.

Thanks @Bearfax. I’m always up for debate but unfortunately for $chaser Evan’s lost me soon as he went on channel 9 and all admiration for him disappeared like the sliding of an etchasketch.
