Yeah, he's up there with my favourite players of all time as well. That era just had some outstanding talent, with Stevie Matai, Watmough and the Beaver up there in terms of Manly "DNA" as well.
Broke my heart when he left us, but gained enormous respect for him when he came out and spoke about the darkness that was surrounding him at the time. Bringing him back to the club was Manly's best decision over the last 10 years or so. Of course, we stuffed that up and my heart was broken again, but I've never wished him anything but the best the game and life can give him.
Great bloke to talk to, too. I'd run into him over the years around the beaches area at post offices, service stations and pharmacies, and he was always ready to talk and appreciative of any support. He was a bit warier when he was younger, but you could tell as he got older he more was comfortable with talking to fans. Probably just more comfortable in general.
Don't care how many other clubs he's played with or that he'll retire a Titan, he'll always be a Manly legend.
