Amazing Foz has re-signed, or more to the point that the Titans re-signed him. He turns 34 tomorrow so they're taking a punt that his body will hold up to end 2025, though he's probably being used to mentor the younger guys as well.
Anyway, good luck to him.

If anyone's interested, there was an in-depth interview in 'Sporting News' a few days ago with Foz, including playing with DCE, Andrew Johns' influence on him at Manly, his dark days when he was at the Eels, etc.

The click old/legend Manley crew that Foz was a part of, led Foz astray in my opinion.

The club was at a turning point, and clubs like the Roosters, Panthers and Storm discard players that are not essential to the next gen.

We had those players ready to step up and dominate, but the bond of that great team of the 2007-2014 team was so strong that it had an influence on the coach, the players, the fans and the administration. And fair enough.

We always bang on about player retention and new signings, but the reality of that time was, of us wanted to see champions play for other teams, or make way for the next gen coming through.

What happened was, club legends kicked up a fuss and Foran felt obliged to show he was one of the boys and disregard the clubs wishes.

He has spoken publicly of the way he thought the club was not respecting the most successful many team of many year, drank the cool aid and shipped off to Parra with Choc and Arthur.

In a perfect world, we keep both DCE, Foran , Ramien and Gutho.

Des was so player focused in making the team feel like they were more important than the club, and that’s why he had success.

It reminds me of the Bulldog in the 2000’s and the players thought they were bigger than the club.

It’s such a shame as we would have been a force as Foz is a damn great player and he and DCE would have been a great combo.

Big shout out to Foz on his 300th game. He has been a source of inspiration and hope for the daughter and I. All his good work isn’t necessarily done on the field.
We both jumped on his 300th game shirts. Would be wrapped if Mr Postman delivers it tomorrow.
Well done Foz.

Kieran Foran tries not to dwell on those dark days when things got really bad.

He was at his worst in 2016. In April of that year, he tried to take his own life by overdosing on painkillers.

Then Parramatta coach Brad Arthur still remembers one particular night when Foran was in a terrible state.

“I was on the phone to him back and forth from midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am ... when I went to get him, I wasn’t sure if he was going to be alive,” Arthur recalls.

“His life was a mess. He had some bad things going on in his life he struggled to deal with, then he got injured. I never thought he would play again at the highest level, let alone playing as well as he is now.

“He’s always had that fight in him. That’s why he’s still going. You can’t knock him down; you can’t keep him down.”

still one of the best days of my life, he was my first nrl crush, I remember being in a room with probably quite a few of you in here and a bunch of manly players, I was watching every player walk in hoping Foran would be there, I saw Foran and I quickly yanked dads arm and told him, I beelined it over there with dad and as soon as I said hi, I froze, my mind went blank and all I could think was I need a picture but the words weren't able to come out my mouth, so I gave dad the "help me" eyes and maybe a little help me punch on his arm and he said "can my daughter get a photo with you?" and the rest is history.

I'll admit I had a tear or two watching Foz and his kids run on for his 300th. With his playing history, it's an amazing achievement and he's still playing and putting his body on the line in every game.

He might not be at Manly now but in my eyes he's still got maroon & white blood, and hopefully one day he'll return to where it all started. Good on you Foz!
