On paper it sounds a good idea to pay foran on games played as incentive , but we dont need foran to be playing for next week. We need someone to go hard at the line . If he starts thinking i need next weeks coin, he might start drifting accross field and turning the ball back inside over and over again.

We dont need another one of those

He is a gamble . He is worth a risk because of the way he plays. If self preservation is his driving force, then dont worry about it i say.

The forum will be funny next year. If foran puts together 15 - or 20 games, those that endorsed him will rightly feel justified. If he injures himself the " i told ya so " brigade will be having a ball at manlys expense

But in the end the only reason foran is considered is because manly lacks what he has. And what he has costs is more than manly can afford

Schuster being the smokey in the equation, also a gamble to some extent, but it appears now , with the players under contract. On field performance manly has to gamble or be content with 6th to 12 th on the ladder

After losing AFB we need strike backs to add potentcy to a game that is pretty bland and our backs have been starved of opportunity for a few years.

Who is going to ignite them ?

I bet tom turbo would love to see foz there. Maybe taking some heat and responsability off tom who was a one man band earlier in the season might preserve tom a bit . He was essentially doing what we would pay foz to do and also play fullback

If walks goes back to centre i imagine the time he spent at 6 should make him a harder prospect to contain. He was showing the goods this stint at 6 and parker was on fire outside him.

If this comes off, suli could be sacrificed as he just doesnt get any ball so we may as well play a defender there.

Yeah I can agree with almost all of that. We need Foran to play "like Foran" and attack the line or he really isn't any use to anybody.

I'm ambivalent on whether we get Foran or not cause I see both sides....but priority 1 should be locking down Schuster and making sure his nose is not put out of joint so he wants to move on.

I well remember retaining Brent Kite or Jason King ( yes great Warriors for the club ) over JWH and for the last 10 years how does that look.

Youth first please.... Schuster. then Foran if it works.

Don't know why? Foz is a quality player. Also, if he signs, he "wants to be here". Lastly, for him to keep pushing on through all the adversity he has faced in his life, despite it all, shows he has heaps of character.

Welcome him back with open arms. Great mentor for Schuster as well. Maybe think Foran may be our 14 (or even 9 to begin).

Also means DCE can focus on one side of the field again like he used to when he won premierships.
Perhaps you've been away.. there is a split down the middle on Silvertails... unfortunately for some he is coming.. fortunately for the rest of us he's coming ;) #Foran2021Eagle Go Manly!
Foran to 6
Jake to prop
Walkers to play center outside foran and become one of the deadliest attacking sides in the comp thanks to turbo chiming in at the back. Turbo loves his left side... he was putting parker and slowfua away for easy tries. Add fainu and we look ****ing dangerous.... excuse me french

Honestly, think we pretty well have what we are going to get. Not sure we have players coming. I actually think Parra might even sway Andrew Davey to stay. I think it'll be something like the below, with nominal turnover of players:

01. Tom Trbojevic
02. Jorge Taufua
03. Moses Suli
04. Brad Parker
05. Reuben Garrick
06. Dylan Walker
07. Daly Cherry-Evans
08. Taniela Paseka
09. Manase Fainu / Lachlan Croker
10. Marty Taupau
11. Jack Gosiewski
12. Curtis Sironen
13. Jake Trbojevic

14. Cade Cust
15. Andrew Davey (*new) - potentially.
16. Sean Keppie
17. Haumole Olakau'atu

18. Lachlan Croker
19. Josh Schuster
20. Tevita Funa
21. Ben Trbojevic
22. Morgan Harper
23. Toafofoa Sipley
Dude what is this team? Taufua parker and Garrick... no no no no no .. croker (spew emoji)

He won’t be short of a suitor I’m sure, if multiple clubs are keen on Blake Green every year then Foran will be on radars
From 2017 to 2020 Foran has played 56 across 2 clubs.

In the same period Blake Green has played 82 games across 3 clubs, so almost 50% more games so any wonder clubs are interested in him. He actually gets on the field regularly at around 50% of what Foran has been paid.

I can handle it if he comes in at 14 to limit his chance of injury..better than crapper and cust..i dont know but cust seems to be dumb and crapper is crappier..so schuster at 6 with dce at 7 fainu at 9 and use foran only if we need him

If that's our side next year I'll eat a bat and start another pandemic to shut the season down.
We are letting roughly 8 players go, the side will be vastly different to what is above.

So expecting a lot of broken contracts? Especially with players other teams might not pick up?

We need a complete reprogram. We need to evolve as has the game. We need to knock down the house and rebuild it and I don’t just mean the playing roster but also I’d start with the management philosophy, short term and long term planning (recruitment and retention) and coaching/training staff. We are broken. Fix it. I’d give Des 12 months prove he can evolve and if he can’t then so long.

And at about 50% of the performance level too, Warriors fans would argue his corpse was on the park for some games putting nothing in

And you would risk the loss of Schuster, someone some say is superior to Foran at the same age. How can you think that way. Its about the long term, not half season next year. We lose Schuster and we lose one of the most important players coming through in the next decade. That's madness. And for what. A player who has played less than half a season for the past 5 years. You're dreaming of maybes and past glories. Might as well bring Cliffy back. He's only 58
I think having a mentor like Foran would please Schuster - he wants to learn

Why not?

It is about perceived value to the person supplying the TPA
If the perceived value is him playing for us than it is illegal. This is the rule " If a player is receiving money from any person as a way of inducing him to play for the club, then that money will be included in the Salary Cap".

Considering he was offered 300k at the dogs if we were to register him for similar then i could not see an issue.

300k is still decent money for me

OK, so 56 games across 4 seasons is an average of 14 games which is barely more than 50% of each season.

Doesn't sound like a good investment to me regardless of how much he's paid.

I'm not sure he'd want to learn the lessons Foran is qualified to teach, for example:

Cheating on your wife that's just had your child nuking the relationship.
Taking a pill overdose and ending up in hospital.
Emptying your TAB acount, including betting $20K on a horse that came last.
Becoming buddies with underworld figure Eddie Hayson and bringing him into the club to make other "friends"
Signing for another club when he knew they were trying to keep him and would release other players to do so.

And I'm only listing some of his issues. Go read his Wikipedia page since 2015 to get the full story.

Yeah, has the makings of a great mentor.
