Anyone wanting Des back think about the following

Des still a drawcard for Foran

If Trent Barrett was to leave Manly - and Des Hasler return in his place - there is no doubt that Kieran Foran would be looking to head back to Brookvale.

By no means is Foran unhappy at Canterbury - or with coach Dean Pay - but the reason he signed there was to be coached by Hasler again. Hasler is currently taking on the Bulldogs in a Supreme Court battle which will determine whether he signed a legally binding contract extension.

Barrett’s own future is clouded. Those close to the Sea Eagles coach have urged him to get out, fearing his reputation will diminish the longer he remains at the embattled club. There is a feeling he has been badly let down during the recent crises and doesn’t have the support required to turn around a 2-6 start to the season.

If Barrett were to leave, it would open the door for a possible homecoming for Hasler. The two-time premiership-winning coach may consider taking ‘unders’ to return if he is successful in his court battle, but he would still be an enormous cost at a time when the Penn family is attempting to stop the financial bleeding.

A Hasler return could solve the club’s halves issues, as Foran would also be keen to reunite with Daly Cherry-Evans.

Two good reasons to not have Hasler back - him and Foran.

U guys dont want Des. Where on the table would we be with him...last?? Dogs just expected a premiership with him. And went good considering the crap team they had. Took them too the finals 5 years in arow and 2 grandfinals. Apart from winning the damm thing what else could they freaken want. Now the 2 teams des has left are bottom of the table. Says alot. He does whats needed too succeed knowing we we cant compete financially with the rich clubs we did good.

Where is the vomit emoji..?

A big NO to either Hasler or Foran!! They each in their own way contributed to our current situation!! I once loved the work that they did at Manly but their departures were the tipping point of so much upset in the club.
Seriously... You think what we have now is better lol...

Warriors chairman on Foran

"Kieran Foran arrived at the club amid an avalanche of publicity but struggled with injury and off-field issues, and left after one season.

"Hindsight's a wonderful thing. We felt we could get him right and he would help us. It didn't quite work out because of the various issues but you couldn't miss the opportunity. We didn't realise how much we'd have to do. We knew there'd be some dramas but not as much as there was. We thought we'd get a lot more positives than negatives."
