In Brad Fittler's own words, Jake Trbojevic got NSW's "**** together".

When there was a State of Origin series on the line. When his captain was carrying a sore calf, and an even sorer head after a late head knock that made him ask officials if they had won the series at full-time. When his halves could barely get their hands on the ball. When his side were defending with just 12 men.

When the game just simply had to be won.

"You take a lot of confidence out of such a great coach and great player saying that about you," Trbojevic said.

Before he humbly deflects the praise.

I liked Matty Johns' comments on his show tonight when they were talking about who the best bloke in the blues squad was....he said Jake's that a good a bloke, that if you walked in on him in bed with your wife, you'd just go, go for it Jakey.

Yup champion is young Jake and is everything we want in a Manly player - passionate, competitive and whole hearted. If DCE was impressing as Captain I'd have no problem with Jake waiting in the wings for a year or two. But quite frankly DCE is not a leader and I think it would be an insult if Jake isnt Captain from 2019 and beyond. Go Manly

it wasn’t a real brush and there was a little pregnant pause but all good as they were in a group

I said I was a manly supporter and that the 73 grand final was my first ever live game was in a hurry to try and find the boys before my flight

They were all good And laughed
All the boys were passing a footy around the qantas lounge

Life us about getting priorities and the little things right and I had never met the boys before

Easy decision really

Jake does all the hard work thatdoesn’t get ppl likeVossy screaming. Glad we have both but Jake is more important to the team. Brandy called him his favourite middle fwd tonight of all time.

Before the game I think it was Brandy Alexander who said that Jake was his favourite middle forward OF ALL TIME. There were a couple of chuckles at that but there is no doubt that the people who know Rugby League recognise what he has done so far and the potential that Jake has to contribute to the game in the future.
