Remember all here crowing on about him and using the success of other youngsters on debut as why he should have been in the team ages ago and attacking Des about it?

Well this kid has been a flop, relatively...unfit, slow, poor defense. Des was right in not debuting him.

Not sure about Harper but Funa and Schuster did have a full pre-season and played trials, where Hoppa was only cleared to play in June.

Harper played an NRL game earlier this year. Funa has played 2 years of Canterbury Cup. Schuster played SG Ball last year (SG Ball Player of the Year). Hoppa had ACLs in two consecutive years and played only a few minutes of footy in two years prior to the Storm game.

IMO, the most important thing is building for next year, so am very happy to see debutantes in action the last couple of weeks, even though most have happened via injuries to other players.

He's good, underdone but good. His family association will always put a cloud of uncertainty and instability over his head, I think 200k is reasonable if he finishes the season strong, perhaps with some performance based incentives.

The kid has lots of potential but if some club wants to offer $500k and a 4 year contract I'd let him go.

Yeah but Gutho didn't have to piss off for a year to go and annoy people and had also played more than two first grade games. His brother has never been the same player after his bothering episode.

Yeah but to be fair, he also hasn't played on the end of a back line like we had. Agreed though, 2 years off anything will put you behind the 8 ball for good.
