The Finals thread:

The torpedoing of the Bulldogs season through the ill considered decision to change the spine that had them leading the comp, is one of the great own goals in sporting history. I don't think Gould & Ciraldo will ever fully admit it but they out smarted themselves. Any talk of 'building for the future' is partially true but mostly a diversion for the mishandling of the team dynamics. They owe the squad an explanation & an apology.

Dogs have won 1 of their last 6 matches in 2025.
And that would be beating us by 40 in a match we had to win. That says it all really.DCE at his headless best that day. They pressured him relentlessly and he folded like a Chinese tent.... as usual in big games that mean something.

Regardless of the pros and cons of Jamal he is not a dickhead, in fact the absolute antithesis of that ,and I think many supporters see it as a breath of fresh air and hopefully the start of a better era where we have an emphasis on TEAM.

The last decade has been a nightmare for a few reasons however, simply put ,the DCE long term post backflip deal has led to our clubs worst ever decade long performance since we became a force in the early 70s. That is just a fact and we paid him 15 million bucks to help us achieve that feat.

Onwards and upwards.

No it was vs Penriths reserve grade side.

But anything else you mention is hard to argue.

Yep Bob , apologies.Round 21.
Interesting the rot started the next week with the Tigers flogging the dogs. The performance by DCE that day was his pressure game career in a nutshell.

Realistically 2015 to 2025 you could argue it’s our worst decade yet ever. Even in the 1950s and 60s we made multiple grand finals

Could it be the beginning of the end for Aldo Ciraldo at Belmore?

Or will Arthur ‘The Money Launderer’ Laundy forgive Bee-sting Face and Aldo?

Sharks get of to a flyer in this, the pressure could prove to much for the Purple slime. And playing Hughes is a huge gamble by Bellyache. Sharks by 10.

Interesting how Foz was just comparing similarities between the recent attacking play by Trindall & Hynes to him playing with DCE.

Anyways, hoping the Sharkies can overcome the Scum and their dirty tactics tonight.

Sharkies will play, and win, their Grand final tonight imo.
Then cannon fodder for the Broncs next weekend unfortunately.

Hughes playing well with a broken forearm …love the way he takes the ball to the line which has sharks defence in two minds

Someone explain how these fu*king cheats can afford marquee players
Papenhauzen
Grant
Hughes
Munster
Utokamani bought
Coates bought
Eli Katoa bought
and the rest under the so called salary cap.
The nrl is just a fair dinkum rort. Totally losing interest in watching the same bullsht clubs winning year on year.

Don’t forget the ever absent NAS, he certainly isn’t cheap either.

Slime should be up by plenty, Sharks still in it tho. Slime once again slowing down the tackled player, Kline just warns them instead of penalizing the Slime.

I have no sympathy for Storm, but the Sharks getting away with using early 2000s Dragons walking or crawling off the mark to try to blow apart the middle of the Storm ruck.
