We have not won a Premiership since 2011
We have come up with years of Excuses to justify our Underachievement's
Because we could not find any Premiership Winning Solutions

The Fact is we all create our journey to success with the choices we make and in the last 12 years since we honored our Legendary club with a Premiership Win we have kept making wrong choices and we ended on the wrong side of the Premiership Winning Ladder
This is no Bad luck folks This is a result of years of Bad choices leading to Underwhelming results

But ....
Yes there is always a But when we have Different views on this forum and this is because we are all wired Differently

And so This Thread is for those that live in a fantasy world where there is no such thing as accountability and Excuses are their only Justification for our Current Mediocre Existence

Lets Start with ...
12 years of Injuries Excuses
12 Years of Salary cap Excuses
12 Years of Being cursed and robbed by bad referees Excuses
12 years of what ever , what ever , what ever , Excuses

To be fair this is a forum and people are allowed to have views that you might see as “excuses “
Absolutely ! . And this is why I dedicated this Thread to all those feathered friends and our Manly club officials .

Penn and while he is in charge I don't expect a premiership.

If he was smart over 10 years ago he should have offered Des a proper contract instead of allowing Canterbury to swoop in, we haven't recovered from that.
You don't set stupid KPIs and pay under market value to a coach who has had a team competing for a premiership regularly.

The second coming of Des it was too late, the damage had been done.
Des should have been planning for a premiership after winning the last one instead of planning for life at Canterbury.
We should be a team players will come to for reduced contracts to play for a premiership winning team where now we have to pay overs to attract a regular first grader.

Des would probably be retired or been a coaching director with a decent coach in place by now.

Some peoples excuses are other peoples reasons. Just like some peoples constructive criticism is other peoples whining about things they have no control over. There is no right or wrong in supporting a team you love, only different ways of expressing that passion.

The key word to your posts is Control ...

There is no right or wrong in supporting a club feathered friend
and all of us Passionate Manly people will always support our Legendary club
But we will not support the people in Control that do not have the capacity to live up to its Great Winning Standards as when we lower our legendary clubs great standards we stand for nothing Great and I do not believe any proud Manly folk would support any one degrading Manly Greatness

I will leave you with this Great Altitude Eagle quote
A quote that our Great Winning Godfather lived up to and lifted our Legendary club to its Great Premiership Winning Hights
YOU MAY NOT BE IN CONTROL OF EVERY SITUATION
BUT YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR ALTITUDE AND HOW YOU DEAL WITH IT
BY THE CHOICES YOU MAKE

The moral of the story ..
Take Control of the rocky road to Success
Make the right choices and fly above Adversity like Premiership Winning Eagles

I guess if we won the comp every year and fully realised potential 100% of the time it would eventually become boring being a supporter of any club.
I especially enjoyed the build up in the preceding seasons to winning in 2008. It made winning so much more sweeter. Am I am saying losing is great? Absolutely not, but some kind balance makes it more meaningful.
Are we overdue to wining the comp again? Absolutely!

Next season it will start (the 8 point cycle we've been in for a decade):

1. Team needs time to gel, then

2. Need to wait for XYZ to return from injury, then,

3. The refs, then

4. We played WELL, the effort was THERE, we just didn't get the result, then

5. We took too long to relegated ABC player (or introduce DEF player), then

6. We lack depth, then,

7. We may as well try the rookies, because we are out of the finals race, then,

8. Back to point one: rinse / repeat

Came pretty close to getting the opportunity for a G F berth in 2019 with that controversial loss to Souths and the Raiders really pushing the Roosters for the title then .
Fair to say Manly had the wood on the Raiders that season .
Then in 21 not that far off Souths again to qualify for the G F against the Panthers but fair to say also Souths for whatever reason offering a bit more competitiveness against the Panthers at that particular time .
Injury ravaged seasons for this season and last , very limited impact from Turbo , other high salary players either not available or out of form , of course dragging the side 's prospects down no end .
Lack of success can be attributed to many factors no doubt but not having one 's best players on the paddock consistently and in good form consistently , only could rate as the main factor .

Mate, I think the whole point of this thread is as a club, excuses have been evident for too long.

So, you're saying not having one of our best players on the field "consistently" is the main factor.

Fair enough.

So what have we done as a club about it ? That's the problem here. We've stagnated around one true fix - "hoping one player stays healthy". Where's plan B, where's plan C, and have they worked, and if not, who's at fault, and who's fixing it?

We've ridden a Hooker that's come 4th, 11th, 12th, 15th with him in the 9. Look at our attack, ruck speed, tries from dummy half, etc etc etc. So who's fixed that, and if fixed, has it been successful.

We've been mired in a decade of mediocrity, and thats not Manly. As others have said, our DNA is gone. It's jobs for the boys now, regardless of on field form and quality.

It's just excuses, excuses and more excuses. Next season it will be about all our players needing time after coming off long term injury. It will be about when they can start playing, then getting match fit. It will be about selecting favourites like Jake at lock, Croker, Parker despite better alternatives (middles playing out wide), Schuster being unfit again, taking home games to Brisbane (against Brisbane - how dumb is that), the States and other places, when we need to simplify and take every advantage we can. It will be about more injuries (Tom will break down, or at least start half hearted like many said he did last season - we were at 40 something percent win ratio when he was in last season too btw).

Etc etc etc.

Enough is enough. Enough talk. Enough excuses. Win, or get out. And that's from the highest paid player to the lowest. What has Turbo achieved at Manly ? Jack ****. What has Olakau'atu? Nothing. And we are shedding players for these types of guys that have achieved absolutely Nada for us.
