The Dragons could shock a few next year

It is the belief of many that the St George Illawarra Dragons will be a bust in the 2017 season.

After their attacking woes of the season just gone, you can’t argue with the array of people that have already written them off.

Yet somehow, looking at their current crop of players, I get the feeling they can challenge the big names in 2017.

Let’s have a look at some of the big players they have brought in over the course of the off-season.

I think if the rookie half Hutchison does well they could finish mid field...if not....the bottom 4.

The forget name is Mosy Masoe. His injury not playing 1 nrl game is a massive loss for them. Dragons should be a better team than this year, much like us it's there playing style, "coaching" as opposed to the players which just dosent seem right.

It always shocks me how ordinary the Dragons are, no matter who makes up the team. Losing Benji can only help them, but aside from Tyson Frizell, I can't think of one player on their roster I'd be happy to see at Manly.

One of the clubs I'm hoping will be worse than ours in 2017. As I've said before, 3 teams finished below us in 2016. Of those 3, the Eels and Roosters will be much improved in 2017. If we don't get our skates on we'll be left fighting it out with the Knights and Dragons.

^ Genius idea, NewwyEagle - we might actually be better than we were last season if the players all wear roller skates instead of footy boots.@:)

Putting a rooky half with a (nowadays) average Gareth Widdop spells disaster to me...I can't see them getting any higher than 10th if they're lucky.

Nah that's about where I reckon we'll be BUT I'm very happy to be proven wrong!

I'm counting on the squeals to shoot emselves in the foot again as per usual ...or whatever eels have .... fins

If they come bottom 4 and have a rudderless attack, it certainly won't be a surprise to me?!

They will never climb the ladder while ever Mary is the coach and Widdop is the chief playmaker.
