The Daly Cherrygraph

Oh and do a search for the Nobby walker on fb or gold coast bulletin to see what kind of area it is lol

My brother unnamed currently plays for
belrose. He has had few beers around traps take it as fact, weather he back flips or not the bloke is hated in the playing group. He trains on his own, turns up late to training now thus contract saga. He has been on nose since 2012 negotiations where ultimately we lost kite, gifts, Choc No one can stand him. He is the blame for friction of last few years.
He may be a good player not great point taken last year's semi v dogs.....He is a **** bloke this is all about money.
Take point titans fans, manly where winning games long before him let's see how he goes without snake and killer.

I can imagine him annoying the older guard but he's a top quality half back...people can be annoying. Cooper Cronk is off in fairy land writing strange poems and JT walks around giggling like a hyena.

I think DCE has been scapegoated a bit by that old guard who are upset that the salary cap has inevitably broken up their friendship group. They didn't like the change and wanted to find a lightning rod to channel their frustration. Who better than the up and coming star half who is commanding big pay? (Never mind that another star half who was commanding more or less equal money was part of their boys club).

They managed to keep a tight group of mates together for several years in the professional era by playing for a bit less money, and as nice as it would have been for other guys to buy in to that attitude not everyone has. But they're all fast approaching retirement age now so they can't be the ones calling the shots anymore.

The thing that gets me is DCE a month back complaining about all the media speculation and the intrusion into his personal life and then goes on fox with that interview the other night where he ensures all the speculation etc keeps going.

Now let me make this clear, I have zero problem with him doing it. But then don't complain about it when the media start poking into your life more and more. I do believe it's one area some of the modern players struggle with, and they believe they can play with the media, and the reality is they can't. The media have the manpower to play you. You only get a handful of players and coaches who are canny enough to do it (Bennett, De$ etc).

I know this is unpopular but from day 1 my attitude is I want DCE to go. He decided to go and signed that contract (sure it's not legal yet), but no-one put a gun to his head and he made that call. So go.

After wanting the club to pull out all stops to keep DCE, I have back flipped and now hope he leaves.

I am more than over the way he has carried on putting us against the Titans in a bidding war for his services. In the scheme of things given his high tax bracket whats a 100 grand here or there.

I think the club should contact the Tits on the quiet and both clubs pull their offers and let the Titans make a new bid for say 900k.

The risk of putting 1.4 million of your eggs in one basket is too great in my opinion.

I hear what you are saying killer, but keep in mind we pulled our offer off the table too. I am sure his managers are savvy enough to know that DCE could go and sign a contract elsewhere and still have to round 13 to turn it around if Manly got their act together.
Well it now appears as though we have now got our act together, but it is now going to cost us $400k+ per season more than it should have.

Absolutely Clint, and don't think for 1 second I'm absolving the Manly Admin/Board of responsibility, they have handled this dreadfully as well.

I dont the Titans can pull their offer now, and even if they did and both Manly and Titans re-offered 900K, nothing stops the sharks offering $1M

I am of opinion he is using manly for more cash, it time to walk away. We will be ok, that said people taking morale ground against carney need a head check. Cornish is rubbish seen on TV last week, carney ripped apart the best side in superleague by 50 points.
Footy is about winning games this should not be forgotten.

Yep mate. Hearing you. It's about winning footy games so:
DCE 7
CARNEY 6
Behind a strong forward pack, that combo will rip most teams a new one.

I cant ever see that happening under the salary cap. We dont have a 'uncapped' salary cap like Roosters or Donkeys.

Can't you read between the lines? He wasn't upset by the speculation, he was upset because the backflip was taking shape and his reputation was being pre-emptively trashed by certain sections of the media. He'd lost the element of surprise.

And because of that he had to choose his words really carefully - to not rule out the backflip entirely (lest he look like a liar if it happened) and not to look like it was definitely happening (lest he cop more crap from people like Tallis).

Would of felt a whole lot happier if he was having beers with: Snake, Matai,Lyon, Ballin, then I'd feel like maybe he was a team player.

Cause at the moment it feels like Cherry plays for Cherry, not the mighty Sea Eagles
Why does he have to have beers with them to be a team player? They are at different stages of their lives other than snake. Wives kids etc. the same could be said for why don't the older guys get involved with the younger. You have to accept the culture needs to change and these blokes are the future. They need to drive a new culture because the others are very close to retirement

Are you taking stupid pills? Why would we give the Titans a free $500k leg up in the salary cap?
