The Daly Cherrygraph

I don’t think sandon smith would sign with us because there isn’t a clear enough path with Fogarty coming. Roosters are clearing the decks and Chad Townsend is free to leave and playing reserves. A player swap between him and dce might be on the cards. Play the rest of this year and then captain Reggie’s next year. Not a huge fan of the Chad but we could use the cash to extend bullimore
I don’t think Smith is the answer anyway. He is quick and a decent runner but he’s a long way off being a game manager/decision maker type half. The irony is, many see $CE as lacking in those areas, so we wouldn’t be too worse off, but we do need his kicking game.

Wow..could this of been good plan all along???????
Already had a big pay day waiting at the Roosters for 2025.. all he needed to do was get out of Manly..

So hey presto.. let's go on live TV , dressed in civis, announce I'm leaving, cause a media storm, blame the club and derail out season.

That coincides with a massive massive drop in form and push the patience of the club and it's supporters to the point of which we can't wait to see the back of him.

All along he then gets to move to the Chooks with a big fat pay cheque for the 2025 season bonus.

We may have all been sucker punched here.
Very well orchestrated by Mr Media and his management.

He will now come out and say "oh nobody at Manly wanted me, so im going to just finish off my career at the Roosters now" " the ongoing smear campaign and all the negative talk from the fans was too much to handle"

Mental health get out clause.. please he's a genius
Manly’s trump card is dropping him to NSW Cup. Tell him to put in or rot in the lower grades.

As mentioned by another poster, it wouldn’t surprise me if he goes early we end up with Townsend. Not that that’s something I’d ever support, but it’s something you could see the club doing.

If mid season switch is on, i can imagine manly thinking lets just have one major distraction rather than stripping or dropping him then switching clubs 2 weeks later

Roosters possibly struggling to clear the decks quick enough holding up the transfer, and manlys need to make a decision . Possibly, giving benefit of doubt I am

DCE certainly looked like he was waiting for the paperwork to clear last week and had his family in the car

If that is not in play then send him to train with the reggies. What a strong message it would put through the club. Give a new man the C. Draw a line, start fresh. I have never been convinced he was such a great team man and is closer to michael clark than allan border as captain . .

I think his professionalism and reputation are admired and his lack of injuries certainly entrenches him as a constant within the group . I think these qualities grab new recruits attention as they buy in to the Enigma , but his game day antics ensure that respect is fleeting .

Yeah Robbo had the ****s when the knights baulked with Young, another $500k left on the decks that needs shifting

So funny that the media is all "Egads! There's a split in the Manly camp!!"

Very first interview after the coward announcement. Jake: Cherry Evans can do what he likes.

Not Daly. Not DCE. Not Cherry. No. Cherry Evans. Could have just been referring to the opposition Origin captain for all the warmth that contained.

It was clear from that moment that there'd be a split between the club legend and his faithful and .. Cherry Evans.

These 'journos' need to understand that truth is more than just a tackle count.

Yep. Robinson and Nick know this seasons comp is wide open and getting DCE into the halves probably turns them into a reasonably strong contender. They will do whatever’s required here to get him across. Now I hope that works in our favour to try snare Whyte or Wong. One thing is for sure, we need to play hard ball here as we have the cards not Easts. Do not roll over for them. Either we get proper compensation, or we keep him on our books and flick him to nsw cup if he continues to sulk in the field.
