The Daly Cherrygraph

Really the answer for this year is

  • Put a line through us and expect very little
  • We can't expect DCE to do anything, he looks disinterested or is injured hence not doing much kicking
  • Brooks will have to run the show, which we know he can't
  • To early to blood the others

Only other option is send DCE packing early and bring up Arthur for a bit and just not make the finals this year.

My guess is there is a Siebold KPI about finals however so he will persist with DCE and miss his KPI anyway

I think that it would be hard for most halves considering the weakness of our forwards, this year.
DCE for example only plays really well when our forwards do!

Still be interesting to chuck Jake Arthur in the 7 or anyone really just to see how the pack and the rest of the team handle a new approach.

You would assume arthur would play an energy game , with limited flair but a direct and tenacious attitude to shorter ball play

He should fake injury this week . Just always injured when dce is on origin duty

But more importantly the team needs a new leader and NOW

Be really bad for the team if he doesn't make origin. I suspect seibs will make changes then, as its just an easy transition

Others no doubt have seen more of him but from my observations ...

yes he has limited flair but also is slow and doesn't excel at either kicking or slick passing!! He's just a nice whole-hearted kid but not NRL halfback level.

(Maybe if he gets a bit fatter could be a lock?)

He knew what he was doing, he said as much.."I know there will be a lot of upset fans"..
What he didn't count on was that people are not stupid and they saw through his BS.. so now he basically doesn't care.. out in the open as realistically he never cared.
The Opinion Perspective ....
Here are some Balanced opinionated views

DCE did Empathise that he knew there would be a lot of upset fans
As fans are upset at all clubs when a long term high profile player leaves

People can have their opinions and assume what they like and say what they like
The fact is DCE did not say he didnt care about the fans

Another opinion is from NRL fox Journalist Paul Crawley
He Believes DCE has been made a Scapegoat for Manly underperforming
He also thinks this ....
Quote , I cant see a great deal of improvement at Manly under Seibold in the two years he has been there.
Manly finished 12th in his first year and they finished 7th last year . They are currently 8th this year going into a game against the cowboys and I have not seen anything aside when Tom is at his blistering best is where the Sea eagles were any better then they were under Des

Thank you for your perspective point of view feathered friend
I agree Brooks is not the answer .

I Believe A Great Mentor Coach can Motivate and lift his players and his Team above All kinds of Adversity
And this is why I also believe we can Put a line though Seibold as he is not this Great Mentor to Lead Manly to the Promised Premiership Winning Land
For those that think Other wise will be disappointed

Not so much about the player as to seeing how the team plays with a different controller and style
For all of DCE and his speed, his speed between the ears can be pretty costly

Having a poor mans version of fogerty to view how the other parts react is something i would like to see

Perception is a wonderful thing
and this forum is all about every one having a Go

At the Highest Level of the Game where its faster and the pressure is extreme
Its sink or swim and you sink if you do not have the ability to think quick .
And that is To have that speed between the ears .
DCE captained and played an integral part of Winning SOO series and played all over Nathan Cleary and other NSW Top Halfbacks to achieve this feat
This is why QLD who like Winners and Will once again pick DCE

But to you @jbb/james DCE speed between his ears is lacking
and You are entitled to you point of view feathered friend

As for the poor mans Version of Fogerty
He was poor at the titans before being let go to Ricky where he became an accomplished half
The question is ?
How will Fogerty go under Seibold ?
We did not see Brooks game go up another level under Siebold
As you say @jbb/james its something that we will like to see

I'm not shooting the messenger but I would be completely shocked if DCE was to go mid season
That will just about do me if he did..

I would have less than zero respect for him as a person.

I'm all about the club that I support no matter what.. it's in me from the age of 5, 1972... i cried as a young man when we merged due to Super League..and him doing something like that would be the sole worst player movement from any player (including Bozo) .

Bozo and all that left who had such a high standing with the club and it's supporters did so with grace and dignity.

The guy is an absolute piece of S#@t if he pulls that stunt now..

I'm starting to believe you regarding the coach, I've backed him and defended him, he's made a few good calls but I'm starting to believe he's a great PR man.. talks the talk and people believe him.. but he's not an NRL coach with tactical wit, a man manager able to bring out the best in players or a ruthless leader that has that winning coach respect.

But DCE and Mestrov being at fault for the whole DCE issue is not correct Bozo.. and you know it.

The.way he just looked at AFB score his try without trying to lay a hand on him, at least make out you want to tackle him. Matty Johns reckons he will be gone by June .:clap:

For that to happen we would have to be getting a replacement half from the Roosters surely, but then what becomes of that new half next year when Fogarty arrives? If we trade DCE for a replacement forward, it still leaves us short a half. Can’t see anyway letting DCE go early makes sense for us, unless we think Walsh is ready now, in which case why did we buy Fogarty? But knowing us, we will probably just let DCE go and get nothing in return, and the roosters will win the comp.

Whatever happened and who is to blame, lets put this aside

Lets focus on DCE's form since the announcement - its been terrible mate.

What do you attribute that to @BOZO ?

1. age?
2. he has checked out?

I am convinced something has happened behind the scenes.

Someone like DCE who seems so committed and consistent in his game, has developed extra skills successfully, has held this team together through some dreadful years of poor coaching, poor recruiting, a pedestrian backline in the past, especially when Turbo has been often out, doesn't make a sudden decision contrary to the very commitment he has shown throughout his career..Love him or hate him, its just not his nature. He is too disciplined for that.

This has the smell of something that has been brewing for quite a while and DCE has, as a consequence, said enough is enough. Whatever it was, has become untenable for him to continue to ignore. Notice how he is showing that discipline by saying nothing. He did the same thing when he left the Titans contract and was abused and insulted. He said nothing. He just took it. To be so decisive, I believe, is consistent with the nature of the person he is.. Remember this is someone who commits himself to chair the Players Association. You don't do that for no pay unless you're committed to the welfare of the game.

Motivation is everything. Find the motive and you've found the reason for his sudden decision. He's not going to say what it is, which unfortunately leads to all sorts of conjecture, theories and conspiracies bandying about, most identifying him as the bad guy. Is he? Do you definitely know? Notice he said he is leaving the Sea Eagles at the end of this year. That was his primary point, and gives the clue. No talk of money being offered by Manly. Yes he may get a motza from SC but why be so definite and close the door against Manly, unless something has upset him. I strongly suspect something has happened behind the scenes and he's taken a stand.

Board members do indeed get paid.
Which doesn't mean he's not committed to player welfare, no doubt he is.

And I think most Manly fans agree with you that Daly is clearly pissed off about something, they (we) would rather he hadn't come out publicly about it in the way he did.

Sure something has probably happened as you indicate - but if he has "clocked off" the back of it, then that's super unprofessional given he is club captain and being paid a million or so dollars a year.

Sandon Smith is apparently being shopped around to make room for DCE, might be worth picking him up if the rooters pay some of his salary. Very good goalkicker.
