The Daly Cherrygraph

Anyone want to compare DCE to Cleary in the first half tonight?

Bring on 2026, hopefully with a game managing Fogarty, who definitely won't piss possession away left, right and centre, especially when in front.

I wonder why that is, DCE saying there is a campaign against him. Old grievance perhaps
Perhaps he was not happy with some within the club or old grievances as you say?

But the 'smear campaign I've heard or read is based around DCE's way of going about this the way he did.

I don't believe he will see the point of view of a larger percentage of pundits about how he went about things and rhat what he is saying to be totally honest

That first 40 minutes, where we were kicking on tackle 2, 3 and 4.......compared to Cleary managing the last 10 minutes when they were a man down......that game.

Cleary was clearly outplayed over the 80 minutes tonight by DCE.

I agree DCE's first half was ordinary, but Clearys wasnt much better. DCE towelled him up in the 2nd half.

People mention a lot of early kicks, maybe 1 or 2 were a bit early and all were ineffective, but overall I thought he had a dig tonight, a timely trysaver, and kept trying all game even when things turned to ****.

Hats off when it's due. I won't look at MVP thread cause there were a number of great performers tonight, however I'm certain a handful will include him.

He had a decent game but surely a premier half with his experience has heard of the term 'game management ' That first half we needed to steady things down and play in their 20 not give them a free pass up our end by kicking early to them

I'll never consider the 2013 side as GF losers. They were blatantly robbed by the Shame Hayne NRL/SBW benefit show. Giving DCE the CC medal was proof.
**** Shayne Hayne …he came out a few days later in the telecrap apologising to manly fans and it wasn’t just the forward pass that he missed , there were a few other howlers of decisions

Game management and DCE don't go hand in hand. I learnt that post 2013 when all our guns started retiring or left and DCE become in charge.

It's been frustrating ever since, especially when we haven't had the strongest of teams. That's when tactical game management is even more important, but DCE has always been a player who often just rolls the dice, and we've witnessed many amazing moments from him, but it's not a style to take a team deep into the semis.

I am interested in understanding your perspective. You are of the opinion that Manly have botched the negotiations and/or didn’t really want to keep Daly?

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but if you can answer the following questions, it’ll help me understand:

1. Why did Manly want to move him on in the first place?

2. Why did he ask for a release in 2023?

3. Why did he inform the club in December that he would finish up with Manly at the end of 2024?

I’m interested in your thoughts. Personally, I don’t really see Manly as culpable, because I think DCE doesn’t like someone at Manly and has wanted out for some time. Thus, any movement in the cap or allowances are a moot point, because he doesn’t want a contract at Manly anyway.

It's pretty simple and reasonably obvious if you look beyond the trees.

Seibold.

After 12 months of Spoony coaching in 2023, DCE who wants to win a GF realises having Spoony as coach means he has virtually zero chance of winning a GF with this pretender as Coach.

Everything After this has been Manly mgt covering their own embarrassed arses.
Why do no decent players outside of Moses mgt want to come to Manly? Spoony, that is the reason

Frankly,DCE as captain coach would do a better job than Spoony

We went in 14 - 0 up and were all over them?

Sure, with a plethora of restarts, penalties and possession in our favour.

What does Hughes, Cleary, Trindall do when they have all the momentum? I'll give you a red hot tip....it isn't kicking possession away on tackle 2, 3, and 4...they build even more possession and momentum, not piss it away
