I was surprised the Bulldogs were even mentioned as a possibility. There was no chance that was going to happen.

If you were to be honest that was just a Manly Silvertails thing. At least 3/4 of the coaches in the NRL would have taken DCE no questions asked. Would the rubbish years you speak of be the Trent Barrett years by any chance?
He won a premiership. Won a Clive Churchill in a GF we were robbed in. Played in a side that was pretty ordinary at times. Captained QLD and led them to series wins.
I'd say we were lucky to have him but perhaps that's just me.

We have at least one spoon without him I reckon…

The idea that he's "making up his mind", and that his services will somehow be available to every club in the NRL - with the one massive exception of Manly - is pure fiction.

It’s been a few days and I feel a wrench in the gut when I remember this has happened. My mind’s seriously blown and my resolve is being immensely tested. I know it’s only footy but geez I’m a tragic!

If the club rated Humphreys as a halfback, they wouldn't have been trying to turn him into a hooker / dummy half. Especially, regardless of anything that's going on now, knowing DCE's age and that he wouldn't be forever.

I think they had him playing hooker to be the 14 on the pine, a few clubs do that with promising halves to get them into the 17.

Panthers did the same with Trent Toleau playing seven tonight.

Still doesn't add up. IF he wanted out early last year then clearly Manly knew we wouldn't be keeping him past this year. Then why the fu*k did we so readily let Humphreys walk out the door. Has our management/recruitment incompetence level excelled past previous years or is there more to this saga.

The talk about DCE going to another club to lead them to a
GF win , Let’s be real he hasn’t led Manly year after year for a GF , yes Manly have had there issue’s . All clubs do not so Penrith or Melb and they have played a few , But to put it out there that DCE will bring them premiership glory is ridiculous
