The Daly Cherrygraph

Well if he wasn't shopping himself around well enough last year already.... on 100% footy on Monday night he put on the knee high black boots, got the botox done, the push up bra, the false eyelashes, the spray tan, updated his tinder profile......

Safe to say he's pulled out of the stops now.
Yeah I would say any club that “agreed” to terms with Chez in 2024 is very f*cking nervous about now…

the market is super hot right now, he is the biggest sl*t in the whorehouse and he just declared that the biggest d*ck gets to f*ck him for 2 years…

No doubt someone else has pointed this out ( so many posts to read) but the biggest hole in DCE’s story is that he expects people to believe that no club showed any interest in him last year year. If he was really shopped around late last year he would have surely attracted some interest. This is total bull ****e of biblical proportions… I can’t believe the media swallowed this….DCE is just trying to cover his tracks for what ever deal he arranged in the background….
If he has signed elsewhere then announce it; just as Dylan Brown did. We fans wouldn't like it, but it gives us a reason. But DCE simply announced he wouldn't play with Manly again. That's disrespecting all of us and the club we love.
I'm totally off the bloke now, yet if we are to do well this season we need him to continue playing at his maximum capacity. He has created a maelstrom of emotions that I feel will derail our tilt at title glory in 2025.

The interesting bit is also the coaching role (which is the way to get around the cap post playing etc). If that is true then it does put to rest issues with Seibold...you would think!

I think he hasn’t announced it because he has opened up the bidding process again… I am sure he has an offer but now he has declared “I am definitely available” and he will sit back and see what comes a across his managers desk… if he actually does not have an offer and he gets nothing then he just says “I have decided to hang them up”…

Only thing unexplained is why not Manly - people hate people for some reason…

That is a red herring I reckon… all I have heard is “they are not super tight”… well, do they have to be?

I reckon it is BS based on a non-invite to the wedding… they can not be “super-tight” but still work together really well…

Every one is talking about the Manly DCE Soap Opera
Every one from the Butcher the Baker and the Candle stick maker , The blue and the white collar workers and even The Rugby League Immortals have their view

Should be "immoral" behaviour from this flog. Anyway he is just towing the Chanel 9 company line, for their newest staff member.

We all have our strengths and weakness including Andrew Johns feathered friend
He does make a strong point in the way DCE was disrespected by the low ball offer
A Manly legend and a Great Elite player being Greatly downgraded is a sign of disrespect.

There was no way that Manly were prepared to pay Elite money for DCE
It would have been more respectful for Mestrov to thank DCE for his services and say that due to cap restriction we are enable to offer DCE the money he deserves .
By saying this Mestrov would have come across with more integrity and respect and there would be no Manly soap opera and TV drama and bewildered Manly fans

I find the whole situation somewhat bizarre.
He's still not even sure if he will play on next year, though he wants to (he says)
This leads me to think leaving Manly is not really about footy but more likely about post-footy.

Seeing everyone is speculating about this that and the other... how about this one: DCE is pissed off that Manly - specifically the Manly money man Penn - has not been forthcoming with offers of fantastic post-footy wealth befitting a club legend. Or at least the level of post-footy inducement that Politis and now Laundy is assumed by the entire footy world to offer their players.
Makes no sense to me that this has anything to do with Seibold, or even with Mestrov and the club negotiators, based on what Mestrov says.

Whatever, I'm just about over all this hoo-haa already. Just play a bloody game of footy and smash the eels please, that's what your there for!
I did hear a rumour from someone that should know a thing or two that he was keen to get away from Seibs. I didn’t believe it at the time but now I’m wondering if it was indeed true.

What leads me to believe there must be an issue with Manly, whether that’s Seibs, Penn, the Board, is he would have no reason to block Manly from ongoing negotiations. He can take a better post career deal with the Chooks or Dogs, get more money, etc. without telling Manly he’s going in December. There’s nothing to gain in playing Manly this way, other than to send a strong message that he is unhappy about someone or something.

If he loved Manly but had a great post-career option on the table at the Chooks, he’d have no reason to throw Manly under the bus like he did the other night. Instead, all the powerbrokers at Manly would know he’s going on 100% Footy in advance. He did that because he is either stupid or spiteful. It has to be one or the other.

The whole thing I have gathered from this is, he wasn't low balled. They had an agreement to talk again in Round 6. Dont believe everything Chanel 9 are spinning or NRL360. Bulldog Richie has a much differeing view on this, but they dont let him say much on TV. They all talk over him.

And he doesn't even gain anything by sending that message, that I can see. So far the main effect of his farewell announcement is that a lot of people think ill of Manly, and a lot of people think ill of DCE.
If this was his aim... it worked!

Hard to argue with you. It’s pretty clear I’m a massive fan but I concede that this has been handled poorly. We’d all be upset if he left anyway but it would be easier to take if he just came out and spoke honestly about his reasons, rather than send the rumour mill into overdrive. Manly fans deserve honesty so we can understand and move on.
