Unfortunately for the Roosters, it won't be granted, they have determined the punishment, the composition of which is and was of their own doing.
The NRL will not overrule the Roosters sanction, they may, at a later date, determine their own sanction, if there is a need.
There is no basis for an exemption under the two policies governing application for an exemption and the rules determining the merit or otherwise.
At a dinner last night, this idea was floated around and two particular relevant individuals within the NRL had a slight chuckle at the notion, going so far as them waiting for he of the red bulbous nose and cheeks to commence his campaign via the NewsCorp media to "assist" the Roosters.
It appears to me, in this instance and finally, for once, the NRL and the NRLPA are no longer following the lead of the Roosters.
This is the first time I can remember in nearly 30 years of doing business in and around the NRL, the Roosters have missed the mark.
