So the Panthers are on a run and have all the swagger to back it up at the moment it would seem.

This last week and the backlash against a few of the boys in that team has been interesting. Its Pretty clear the fact that fear of a fist sandwich no longer plays a part in the game allow players such a Chrighton and Lui to be complete cockwombles and get away with it.

I do wonder if as a coach you could select say a 2nd or 3rd string bench player with a hot head and give him the instruction to goad said opposition with the plan of when it gets a bit firey plant some good ones right on their chin.

Sure it would be a suspension but as a way to unsettle the opposition could be a go. Im sure if said player did land a few a panthers player would throw back resulting in both players being sent off so no real worries there.

We need some respect back in the game and we all know the only true respect is fear of getting knocked the **** out....

Peter V’landys wants tougher penalties for bad sportsmanship after labelling the $1350 fine handed out to Penrith’s Stephen Crichton “ridiculous”.
It comes amid growing concern that grubby niggling tactics that are becoming more frequent in the NRL this season will ultimately spill over into junior sport.

The ARL Commission chairman also reminded players that they “are role models and things they do are replicated at junior levels”.

I thought the cuddle of Tapine was stupid but it was his reaction that highlighted the whole thing...

I recall the same thing happening last year when a team scored and pulled an opponent into the celebration and absolutely nothing was said ( thinking bulldogs player maybe)

Panthers are cock-a-hoop at the moment but why wouldnt they be? If you want to pull their heads in try actually beating them in a game of footy - worked for the drizzle in the GF... didnt see much cockiness that dsy...

Fwiw... i thought the handshakes were f*cking hilarious... a real f*ck you nod to the NRL 'journos' and other poor losers like Dave Furner

Luiai is a real knob jockey...watch how he always niggles players by rubbing their faces into the ground or laughs at them during tackles. The worst thing he does is often pushes players in the back then runs away. When there’s a biff on he comes in as 3rd man pushes players & again runs away. Great player but a gutless, spineless worm hiding behind his forwards when threatened or the going gets tough!

Agree he is a bit of a knob... reminds me a lot of Munster... both bloody talented and both like to let everyone know about it by rubbing their faces in it...

I guess thay are all westies arnt they..... if they couldnt play footy they would alreay have 15 kids each and a set of wheels with led lights underneth.

Sorry but bringing back punching is ridiculous.
Some sports in the US - pretty sure the NFL is one - have very strong penalties for bad sportsmanship.
Given how many people, especially kids, watch the game, that is a far better and easier way to deal with the issue. Yeah a punch really solves a lot of problems in society, not.
