He wasn’t to know Waddell would make those errors Waddell has been good in most games this year
Gordo needs more time that’s for sure Lawton needs to be under Gordo
I feel like Waddell was only ever supposed to be a depth player, but he has managed to get himself ahead of Bullemor in the pecking order.
He has been poor the last couple of weeks though, I'd imagine Sipley or Bullemor could take his spot soon.
I don’t think the Storm had an off night. In the first half especially we put a lot of pressure on them with our defence.

Defensive pressure forces mistakes and we were right up in their grill that first half…

Jake scored in the 48th minute and Seibs gave him a 9 min break before bringing him back on as soon as Meaney scored and leaving him on for the last 23min (which were pretty bloody important also)…
Jake played 71 min tonight and without that 9 MINUTE break the storm potentially run straight past him for a game winner…
Gordon looked good BECAUSE he came on late when the defence were tired - we have enough evidence to suggest that replacement hookers excel in those conditions and Gordon has not set the world on fire when he has played longer minutes…
Personally I am not sure how Seibs could have managed Gordon and Jake’s time better tonight really…
Waddell has not been in first grade but is there because of injuries but he has also had some good moments this year… he dropped a couple of balls but that is not on the coach
Could have managed Jake’s mins better, by not taking him off !! We had them covered until he went off and it was no coincidence that our middle got pulled apart and they grabbed momentum while he was off the park. In 10 years or however long he has been going I don’t remember any time where playing 80mins has led to him letting game winners through
Not to say he has to play 80 every week, but that timing was horrendous

Lawton had a good game. Some good runs from dummy half were a feature. Plus he is a solid defender.
GCKT is better suited to coming on when the opposition defence is tiring.
On a side point
People here have started getting on Jakes back especially the last fortnight but whenever he is off the field you see how important he is to us.

Yep and Croker. When Croker is back, I’d be keeping Gordon at 14. Why play Lawton now? He’s gone anyway and Gordon is showing glimpses of value, bring him along now Siebs.

So just take him off for periods that the opposition are not going to score? That should be easy enough for the coach…
He took him off when we were on top and brought him back on 9 min later in response to a try from the drizzle… Jake played 71 min but that is not enough?
I would suggest that the coach simply cannot win in the eyes of some… played a kid at FB that killed it, introduced new attacking plays (Chez’s switch, angled run to Burbo) that came off (not crediting him with Jake try as that was all Chez), brought Gordy on at a time that he could be effective etc etc…
I could care less, we won a tight game against a quality side and I hope that Seibs coaches that “poorly” for the rest of the season…

For whatever reason i think koula, paseks, burbo, dce, sipley and bully have all improved or gone better under siebs. Aioli is back in form

Don’t get me wrong, we have had some real disappointments this year with plenty of games we should have won and people are frustrated… I am also frustrated…
However, I am adopting the glass-half-full view that the current management have made some hard calls to move guys on that weighed us down for years (and killed off multiple coaches) and the changes have resulted in a team that have been a chance in every game except 1 (dragons) after 12 weeks - despite a raft of injuries and changes… yes, we should not have 5 in the loss column but I am enjoying watching Manly 2024 as they play some good attacking footy and you know they are always a chance of winning..

Yep the reality is that Manly dominated that game.
Of course, it is a worry that they almost blew it (again)
But they have beaten 3 top teams and have been in every game except for one. That is progress amongst the frustrations.
