Have a look how Walters holds the broncos accountable today after their very slender loss. Publicly (in the presser) and privately in the change rooms, berates their effort and says they were crap and that he’s angry about it. When will seibold show the same passion and the same displeasure with our underperformances?! Instead we get “oh we really tried hard”. The sort of crap you tell your under 11 Netball team.

They say coaches only have one or two blow ups a year before the players don’t respond. Kevvie is using one of his now.

Apart from making the fans feel better, I don’t think Seibold blowing up now would make much of a difference as he probably has used his quota already.

Well even if it was just for us fans, so what?!! We’re an important part of the club. And publicly expressing his thoughts would publicly put pressure on the players - which I think WOULD make a difference. So I don’t agree with you on that. Not saying we’d be world beaters all of a sudden, but I think it’s help. Whatever he’s doing now clearly isn’t.

Maybe it would help, but I’m dubious. I don’t know if our team is mature enough to cop a spray and be motivated to improve. And we have been terrible for a while now; I reckon the benefit of a coach spray passed a while ago.

Kevvie’s spray was a challenge to his near top of the table team, basically saying they’ve achieved nothing and they can’t let standards slip. Completely different context to us.

Personally I don’t need to hear the coach give the players a spray. The only thing I care about is seeing effort on the field, which to be fair was decent enough in the first 50 mins last night. Shame the game goes for 80mins though.

We are reaping the rewards of having a third of our cap tied up in three players.

All of the ridiculous Moneyball roster management has been on the back of offering DCE a bloated contract. Jake and Tom were also seen as superstars you can build a club around and also offered huge contracts.

With that much of the cap tied up we have to raid the bargain basement bin to try to make the squad competitive, and we aren't getting any value from our development players because they keep getting offered more than we can afford to pay them before they are ready for first grade.

Meanwhile the Panthers can just keep the revolving door of outstanding juniors rolling when players like Burton and Crichton get too expensive to keep.
