If (when) NZ pick Marty, I hope his ribs are fully healed. I don't want to see him on the sidelines injured. (Or anywhere injured.)

The Australian Rugby League Commission has today selected the following players to represent the Australian Kangaroos in the 2017 ANZAC Test.

The 2017 ANZAC Test match, against New Zealand at Canberra's GIO Stadium on Friday, May 5, will be Australian Captain Cameron Smith’s 50th Test match, as well as his 27th as Captain.

Smith will become just the second player to play 50 Test matches for Australia, behind Darren Lockyer (59), while he will also join Clive Churchill as Australia’s second most capped captain.

The 20-man squad contains five Club captains (or co-captains) – Darius Boyd (Brisbane), Johnathan Thurston (North Queensland Cowboys), Aaron Woods (Wests Tigers), Cameron Smith (Melbourne Storm) and Boyd Cordner (Sydney Roosters).

"This is an incredibly important game for us, coming in a World Cup year," Kangaroos Coach Mal Meninga said.

"Any Test match is important, but the fact this will be Cameron's 50th Test match certainly adds some extra significance.

"Cameron's incredible milestones will form a significant part of our week."

Meninga said that given the short preparation, he and Kangaroos selectors had looked to reward those who played in the successful Four Nations campaign in 2016.

"Not only do these players have established combinations with each other, but they are also well aware of our values," Meninga said.

"However the State of Origin series and then the remainder of the NRL Premiership will be major considerations when we look to name our squad for the World Cup later this year."

The Kangaroos squad will assemble on Monday, May 1 in Canberra.

If we get up this week, then head into the bye, Manly could potentially be in the top 4 the week the test is played, and would then have 0 players in the Australian team to show for it.

Am I bias, or is this a disgrace?

Jake in his very limited game time in the U.K was outstanding for Australia.

Bias yes
A disgrace? No, it is the system. The Australian coaches play the safe percentages so ourplayers have missed out on getting into a team that plays it safe.
For me the interesting thing is Morgan is the utility so you would think he will retain that for QLD.

Toa Samoa and Mate Ma'a Tonga have announced their squads ahead of next Saturday's historic international rugby league triple-header at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.

Some of the game's most exciting players feature in each of the line-ups, including Anthony Milford, Josh McGuire and Sam Kasiano for Toa Samoa, and Michael Jennings, Will Hopoate, Andrew Fifita and representing Mate Ma'a Tonga.

The PNG Kumuls open proceeding in the first Test on May 6 when they take on the Cook Islands before traditional rivals Fiji and Tonga face off in the penultimate match of the evening. Toa Samoa complete the triple-header when on they take on the number three-ranked side, England.

Mate Ma'a Tonga coach Kristian Woolf was looking forward to the week ahead with calibre of players named in his squad.

"This is the first time since I've been involved that every player is coming straight from an elite NRL system, which is really exciting," Woolf said.

"It's the most talented group we've ever assembled, so if we work hard as a team next Saturday against Fiji, I've got no doubt we'll fulfil our potential this year."

The squads for Fiji Bati, Papua New Guinea and Cook Islands will be named on Sunday following the conclusion of Round 9 of the NRL Telstra Premiership.

Tickets for the 2017 Pacific Test triple-header are on sale now from nrl.com/tickets, with General Public family packages available for $65 and adult tickets available for as little as $25.
