Based on injuries I'll be impressed with us fielding any team

You could look at that being the same situation for Turbo though mate, he’s in one of the most aerobically demanding positions on the field, will have been out for over two months with minimal fitness work in the early stages of rehab and Brendan Elliot would have been playing week in week out. He’ll have no match fitness but will come straight back into that side without it.

That’s a fair call mate.

Do you have any idea of the concept of match fitness? Why would you bring him in over 2 guys busting their guts and performing when he would be good for 60mins, 20 mins if he loses it and gets binned. I agree he is a top shelf centre, but sheesh. Don’t give a tinkers cuss what he is being paid, doesn’t make him a walk in player.
What I do have a concept of is this.Suli broke his hand. There are no centres available other than Parker. There is only one guy now busting his guts as you say. Funny thing about Rugby League is the game is played with two centres.

A 600 k elite centre and we only have one fit centre in our top 30. Would like to hear the options available other than Dylan. There are none.

No argument from me now that Suli is out. It’s a no brainer now. I think you missed the point of my post. I made my comment well before Suli was injured.

Apologies. Didn’t realise that.
In reality even if Suli was available he’s an in. We have no five eight.Dylan is no star at five eight but he’s a lot better option than Sirro. Cust was available but Des rated Sirro over him so I assume that still stands if Suli was fit.
Elite level footballers with plenty of experience aren’t like kids and don’t need cotton wool treatment, especially athletes like Dylan.Turbot is the same. Stars have not been coming back in reserve grade for years unless they have depth like the roosters. The amount of contact stuff they do at training and sports science has rendered that stuff almost obsolete when dealing with experienced players.
We have about 19 guys available. Des won’t be letting him anywhere near Blacktown.

Cust needs to play. Elgey is going ok ( needs to be more physical) but is a sitting duck out there at the moment.

This injury issue is shades of 2015, 2016 and 2018. How is it we are having so many injuries?

All good mate, and I agree on the Cust front. Would liked to have seen him on Friday night.

Beyond amazing

But I have a horrible feeling it’s anout to bite with so many away games coming up.These incredibly tough matches eventually take their toll. Tigers last year were winning tough and beating top sides in low scoring affairs but a couple of injuries and they fell away.

Two things have changed since the previous weeks win and think they will be telling.

First the prop rotation is now shot as well.Toff was going great.
Elgey as one out kicker is going to really hurt. With Croker there we had options and looked good. Cust may change that but Des selecting Sirro tells us something about his thinking re Cades readiness.

Our top side looks that promising that we may make a late run at the eight and cause serious damage if we get there.Just hope that we aren’t too far back. The Titans at home is winnable but cant see any points other than that. I have never seen an injury toll like this in time I’ve been watching the game.

Croker is a chance to return this week. If not then cust must play, the siro experiment was a fail! Hodko an outside chance too, either way we need to pick a Specialist half. Taufua back to wing, walker in and AFB back up front. This week's tesm should look ALOT better than last week.
2 of our next 4 games would have us in the top 6 with chez and turbo returning for a run into the semis

Cust has done enough I feel to be worthy of a first grade spot next game. He's a good defender, gets involved and keeps the opposition on the backfoot. He also creates things. Yep I'd certainly have him ahead of Elgey at half. Might even give Elgey more freedom to do his thing at 5/8. I like the Walker-Parker centre mix. A speedster and creator, alongside a tough no nonsense type with solid defence.

Very interesting couple of weeks coming up. We could beat the next six teams we face before the week off. The Sharks and Dragons are the danger. Four from six would be excellent mind you.

There’s a lot of mixed reports on injuries and returns so with supposedly Turbo, Taufua*, Suli, DCE, AFB, Api and Sipley on the sidelines, I’d like to see a side like this but expect Elliott to keep his spot of course (just wish I could see how Garrick would go at the back)

1.Garrick
2.Taufua*/Miski
3.Walker
4.Parker
5.Elliott/Miski
6.Croker/Cust/Hodkinson
7.Elgey
8.Paseka
9.Fainu
10.Kapow
11. Thompson
12. Sirro
13. Jurbo

14.Croker/Cust/Hodkinson
15.Jetski/Boyle
16.Waddell
17.Tangles/Boyle
Mate I totally agree with you. Garrick should be fullback.

Everyone's talking about how devastating it is to have so many injuries. This happens every year. It's no surprise for all teams. It's how you handle and juggle your roster is being most important and this comes down to your recruitment manager in the first place.

Respectfully disagree. Losing 3 of the best players in the world in their positions and having 10 players of the top 30 down by round nine is neither expected nor happens every year. Our toll is just plain ridiculous.

Teams that win the comp each year almost always are one of the teams that use the least number of players over a season.
