[Resurrected] Taupau being shopped?

My point is that he will command more money if he has a good year than if he has a bad year!
The reality is MT, a Marty good year is what you are seeing now, a run and a skip into the line merchant with minimal effect. If he gets a 500k offer, and I'm his manager I'd advise him to sign ASAP, before they change their mind.

Gee whiz. Harsh.

JWH runs onto the field with 11:19 to go.
JWH takes his first hit up 13 secs later and Bullemor meets him. Solid contact.
Roosters get a 6 again and Radley gets tackled.
JWH takes the next hit up and Bullemor meets him again 20 secs later. Again solid contact but clearly lacking grunt.

Some context:
It’s 16-0
JWH has played 13 secs.
Bullemor played over 30mins.

This guy wins the internet for today.

Well played.

Sorry mate but for someone who does know just a touch about defending one on one that contact on the second was shy and certainly not digging the shoulder in

😂 Sorry mate but for someone who’s played a lot of footy and knows a bit about fatigue 😂, you don’t tackle the same way in the 30th min as you do in the 1st….especially tackling JWH as he’s just fresh on the field.

You free for a few weeks - sounds like the boys could do with your fatigue-less digging the shoulder in defending technique?…
Well sorry mate - I wasn't going to bother responding because I don't get into silly argy bargy on here... I make my point, I never ever said I was an expert or a coach but I make my point and leave it at that. I certainly don't have the view that everything I say is correct... But given you are half smart before bidding you adieu I thought I would be courteous and acknowledge your response. I am not going to get into a debate about who played longer and who played in stronger competitions and who represented what or whom but I am happy with what I achieved and I will leave that there. I certainly wasn't any super star. But when you make excuses for fatigue - especially at this level then that says that you accept second best and are a loser not a winner! Now I never ever heard a coach say to me or anyone... hey it is ok you missed that tackle or dropped that ball... you were fatigued. Never once did I hear a coach say.. oh well he was a big guy and he was fresh so that is ok to not put a shot on or to miss him...they would say if you are fatigued get the eff off. I am sure Des would say exactly that... he certainly would not accept fatigue as an excuse. I notice Des took him off straight after that... might not have been connected but also I don't think Des put him back on. Now I am a Bullemor fan... I think he is a great signing - great leg speed - young up and comer but that one tackle in my view just was a bit lacking in effort and ticker. You don't see Jake shying away from a tackle - first minute or 80th. Now again Bullemor might go on to be a gun and I hope he does but I just made a small comment about that tackle. No big issue except it is to you. But then again you didn't like the other day when I had a different view to one of your comments and you got all antsy then. This is just your attempt to even the score albeit there is no score - we are all nobodies commenting on a footy team. I just had a totally different view to yours and you didn't like it one bit. I am no coach - I dont know much at all - I am a neville on here like everyone - I stick by that comment though that I thought that tackle was a bit soft. I never once claimed to be a defensive coach or any other kind of expert. Sorry it upset you but that is ok... We are running last because of a lack of consistent effort and playing without aggression. Too many players are taking the soft option, taking short cuts and yes no doubt being excuse makers just like you. Excuses are for losers... it is that simple. Winners don't make excuses - they dont accept second best. Now if someone missed a tackle in the GF to lose us the game would you give them an out and say that is ok - it was fatigue.. we would all say just make the bloody tackle. Heart overcomes fatigue if you want it bad enough. Not sure Ali in the Thrilla in Manilla would have thought being fatigued was ok and he could give up because he was tired. I am obviously just a harder marker and certainly in defence I am a hard marker because that was my bread and butter but again I am a nufty like the rest on here. So my friend - you can be half smart elsewhere - enjoy your arvy. You keep being an excuse maker. Adieu.

Where is he going too?
It would seem nowhere while/if he still wants $700k+.

The silence is deafening. Other than Taufua & Boyle (& De Luis?), Marty's our only off-contract player unsigned for 2023 so decision time must be soon...

Perhaps his return to form is coinciding with Marty facing the realisation that he's pretty much playing for his football future right now.

If he doesn't pull his finger out he's going to struggle to get a new contract for anything what he thinks he may be worth.

Can’t wait to get his contact off our books. He may of played ok against the storm but still made a few big errors. He is passed it in my books. Not the wrecking ball offloading machine he once was.

The sad part about Kapow, he was a dominant influential player who struck fear into the opposition and lifted his team mates just with his presence, but that's long gone.
There are still glimpses of a good tough player like his initial impact when he came on vs Storm, then went back to doing the slow paced hitups, with arms already in offload mode, which to opposition defence, would make them far mare happy that Marty in Rhino mode.
I just wish he would forget fancy and just get deep EVERY run and Power direct and hard....no offloads or half paced, just run with intent....he can still break a tackle and can still bend the line and Win Manly momentum, which would be his best input imo.

Seems a long time ago where Marty was rightfully mainly known for his power game , seemed also the time when he was quite a powerful player for N Z at international level as well . Maybe some injuries have played a part , maybe some sense of self preservation to prolong his career a bit longer . Marty and A F B were certainly a formidable front row pairing some years ago but unfortunately did not last too long . Agree , very helpful that Sipley has shown some consistent good form this season , Alioia of course has been good , Paseka when fully fit is still very useful , Jake always plays his part when reverting to prop . Marty and Keppie so so Be excellent if Marty can really put in for the rest of the season , with some of the young guns emerging and Jake quite likely to hold down one spot as a starting prop in future seasons , doubt if Marty is presently part of Manly 's future plans , . Good contributor at times for Manly and sure that Manly fans would wish him well on any exit and future playing commitments .,

Well said.
