Linked with at least four rival NRL teams, a front-runner has reportedly emerged to sign young Wests Tigers dummy-half Tallyn Da Silva after he was granted permission to speak with rival teams, effective immediately.

One of the best young players in rugby league, Da Silva is set to become one of the most sought-after players in the coming months, as it is becoming increasingly likely that his future will not be at the Wests Tigers.

Although he would love to stay at the club, the Tigers are currently negotiating a contract extension with skipper Apisai Koroisau, meaning he will hold the starting hooker role for the foreseeable future, and Da Silva will be limited to coming off the interchange bench.

Seen as a future State of Origin representative, he was granted permission by the club last week to negotiate and speak with rival teams despite initially being set to hit the open market from November 1.

Linked with the Manly Sea Eagles, Newcastle Knights, North Queensland Cowboys and the Parramatta Eels, Jason Ryles's side has emerged as the front-runners for his signature, with the Sea Eagles behind them in the pecking order.

"There's a couple of meetings going on this week (which) one of them I believe is with Manly," News Corp's Brent Read said on the Wednesday edition of Triple M Breakfast with Beau, Cat and Woodsy.

"Obviously, they've got Lachlan Croker there as their hooker but he's had a bit of a tough year and I think long-term there's no hooker in the system that's waiting to go.

"I think Parramatta's probably the favourite for Tallyn Da Silva, but Manly will give it a red-hot go because they see a talent there and I think this will move pretty quickly now."

With Da Silva's future set to not be at the Wests Tigers, foxsports.com.au is reporting that the dummy-half could become the latest player to exit the club before the June 30 deadline, following in the footsteps of Lachlan Galvin.

In his only comment about Da Silva's future, coach Benji Marshall confirmed that he was "not sure" if he would remain at the club before the June 30 transfer deadline.

"The game was in the balance and we needed the best players on the field,” Marshall said on the young gun not registering any game time against the Canberra Raiders.

“If there was an opportunity to put Tallyn on I would've but we needed Api on the field."

You just know that poor Ethan Lee Hawke's mum took his picture

I'm surprised that Doesn'tmatta is interested. Riley Smith has been impreessive and would block his way.
It must be disappointing for Simpkins to read we are chasing a hooker.
The thing that makes me confident is that at Parra he’s sharing with Smith & Newcastle he’d be sharing with Arthur. Manly is pretty much a clear path to be the main man for years to come

Great work NPK on getting some early intel before the rumour broke. Do you have any further intel e.g. are we confident/in the frame to get his signature?
Thanks mate — latest intel is that Tartak’s thrown Manly’s offer back asking for a counter. Word is we’re right in the mix, and there’s a bit of confidence we can land TDS if we move quickly.

Still a live situation — four bids are in, but we’re very much in it.

Someone from the tigers said they “don’t want another disgruntled player at the club”

Very doable from their side, but we’d still need to free up a spot somehow.

I know it's "Tigers doing Tiger things" but why don't they want him?!

My best guess is we'll get him after they play us this wknd, like Young/Newcastle/Roosters.

He could be like Dom Young. Playing for Tigers this week and for Manly the next....or at least after the bye.

I think they want him mate but Api is too important for them to let go. I guess it’s like a Humphreys/Weekes situation for us. Would have been nice to keep them but it just doesn’t work out with the players ahead
