Supporter Group - not rocket science

Here, though this is 16 months old the principles still hold true and are very applicable to the whole idea of a "supporter group".

To make it relevant to the current discussion, just replace the word "web-site" with "supporter group".

Surely you don't need to be a rocket scientist to do that?

Vision statement:

The development and maintenance of a holistic website that will ensure a pro-active and excellent experience for the various stakeholders of the club:

• Management
• Sponsors
• Players
• Supporters
• Media

Summary of proposal:

It is our belief that the three key areas of membership, website strategy and media are interlinked. Therefore our aim is to provide a website that will ensure the following:

• A modern website that provides maximum exposure to club sponsors, ease of ongoing information management and a professional image for club and sponsors alike.
• Provision of information that provides for a pro-activeness in media and connection with supporters and sponsors.
• A vehicle to expand the club’s membership base through the provision of timely information and a place of community for Manly fans, local, interstate and overseas.

Our strategy is based upon the premise that a website is only as good as the content it contains. Therefore our holistic stance is predicated upon the need to ensure that an excellent website is maintained by a commitment to a strong flow of information, and the ability for this information to be managed and placed on the website in a timely and organised manner. The emphasis will be upon:

1. A “vibe” about the club’s future and the desire to be a significant part of it.
2. A “sense of community” with the Manly football club as the fulcrum.
3. A clearly enunciated “vision” for the club, communicated regularly (daily) for positive re-enforcement.
4. A “sense of ownership” of said vision and tangible steps by which the individual can contribute.
