I definitely saw major improvements between when we lost to the Knights and the following week when Walker went to six against the Roosters. Walker had his best game and we were very unlucky not to win that match. Then we backed that up with the best win all year against the Donkeys in Brisbane. Again Walker was at six where he’s been running the ball more than in any of his other games. Basically, the side have been playing the game they trained all off season to play, but they were doing it much better. So, on that basis, I am not expecting complacency, but rather, a continuation of the obvious improvement we have all seen in the past fortnight. I’m not saying Hodkinson should not come into the side, because he does have the game to take pressure off DCE, and in doing so, bring about change to our gameplay. What concerns me, is that Hodkinson has only had two training sessions, and regardless of how good a player is or isn’t, sometimes combinations take time to work. Just look at Cronk and Keary. If Barrett wasn’t at least considering this very thing, then he would have just named Hodko in the six and be done with it. But he hasn’t had he... Hodko is named on the bench and maybe he wants to ease him into the game until he’s had a few more training sessions...guess all will be revealed tomorrow.
