Game day!
This game is more important to Manly than it is to Storm, so hopefully we play like that.
Storm will knuckle down and play semi-final style footy, and I hope Manly does exactly the same.
If so ... a close win to Manly in a major boilover!

If we get out of this with no injuries and suspensions I'll consider that a great result

They’ll win , think that’s almost a guarantee.

It’s the scoreline that’ll tell the real story.

If it’s something like 24-12 I’ll take that as a real positive.

If it’s 48-6 that’ll be devastating.

The ASC / ASS group are salivating at the thought of the latter.

One of only two weekends of the year where the manly game is not headlining my sports viewing! Yep it’s Open weekend people and my fav weekend of the year, Masters weekend a close second! Aussies have largely s$@@ the bed but late nights will continue over the next two as it tightens up and the race to the claret jug intensifies! Oh and that’s golf for those who don’t know!

Anyway, re the Manly game. Win will be tough, but if we match the middle, we might be a chance. On paper our backs are as good imo. Melb have also not been as impressive this year. We are due for a decent scalp. Like others have said just compete hard and let the result take care of itself.

Who’s your tip for the Open? Personally, anyone but Scheffler. Rory winning might be too much to ask for.

Haha I’ve given up tipping winners mate. But I’ll always throw in 5 for a top 20 finish. Adam Scott killed that one off unfortunately.

Look you would think Scheffler will minimum shoot -5 over the two weekend days, so unless a player absolutely brains it any one worse than -4 now is probably going to struggle.

Matty Fitz and the big Chinese bloke could be a show. Both played more links golf than Schef. Hatton and McIntyre as well. Outsiders score wise, yeah Rory can go low so at -3 he ain’t out.

Harris English, Rose and Fleetwood for a top ten finish will be my tip. Maybe throw Rickie Fowler or Spieth in for sone value. They have always been good links players.

Found it hard to handle their style of play in that earlier season game at Brookie and did not help with Manly being quite a bit off their game attacking wise also .
Even without Ola , do or should have the means to do better then that earlier season effort , just being able to keep it up for the full duration as usual .
Somehow also being able to channel that really solid standard of footy against the Panthers , Cows and Broncs can make them at least competitive and Pappy is a major out for them .
Again , doubt if Manly can match them in the middle overall and somehow are going to have to unsettle their normal defensive pattern .
Need D C E and Brooks right on their games and Koula , Turbo and Lehi involved as much as possible

Melb have also not been as impressive this year.
Yes they've often looked brilliant but possibly lacked some of their traditional robotic discipline.
No Pap at FB is a big plus, without checking stats I think he's often ripped holes in Manly.

Wonder if any late change for Manly ... Schoupp or Navale in for Talau maybe?

Maybe one of the hoogards might be a chance as well. Better leave the golf discussion there lest we hijack this thread. Cheers.
