Peter Sterling has been appointed as Laurie Daley’s adviser for the 2017 State of Origin series, and has spoken about what he plans to bring into camp.

He highlights the young players coming through as a massive advantage for the VB Blues, and credited Daley on progressively blooding them into the Origin arena.

"My plans include reminiscing about the time I was in a winning blues and parra side in the mid 80s. Then imparting the insights I have gained from 30 years of losing, to the young blues. And I may find time to practice pronouncing 'th' correctly." Cheers, Sterlo, aka Sterol

What in the name of Jack Gibson's left testicle is wrong with Daley. Why the hell would he want or need an advisor?

it's a full time gig, he has 49 non playing weeks a year to watch every game, pick a squad, all to play just 3 bloody games. In reality he has probably only a likely list of say 30 players to chose from and at least 10 of those would pick themselves.

Man up old mate and make your own decisions or piss off and let someone else with a pair do the job.

Sterlo with have as many parra and ex parra players in the side as possible.

The good thing is not 1 manly player will get picked either as he hates us and his ego is bigger than picking the right team.

Seriously we should lose 3 players - 2 X turbos and Walker if all are fit.

Reckon Darcy might be a chance?

I don't get it either. I have no problem with Laurie or any coach having someone as a sounding board occassionally, but does this need to be an official position?

Sterling rates Tom Turbo heaps, he though he was this years best player.

Barring injury it's a given that Jake will play SOO this year, even Daley and Sterling aren't stupid or prejudice enough to leave him out. You'd also think Tom would be odds on to jag a wing spot as well, especially after Mansour's injury.
