Spencer Leniu

We were always going to retain Quac or try, very glad we did. We were also looking for a quality prop and had a shot a Fleggler, thinking we still need a marquee prop and Leniu would be ideal.

What a solid starting front row Paseka and Lenui, I get that we’re handi-CAP-ped at present, but surely we should be looking at shopping a few of our also rans and a bottle of sauce to at least try and put a genuine premiership piece on the board, it’s not every day a prop like Spencer becomes open as a possibility.

Why did we ever resign sauce and why on earth for 3 years, similar with Brown, who should of been a year by year prospect, Lodge, I get it all low budge except sauce, you could throw in Sipp’s, yes they all give us depth and help balance our cap, what they don’t give us is a genuine premiership prop, Spencer on the other hand.

Hell throw a back on the market and find the coin, what we really need is that forward pack leader, a prop with some grunt and the balls to have a crack, like him or loath him at least Spencer would bring the aggression, along with the mobility, grunt and someone to lead our pack, we have been lacking that forward leader for far to long, don’t think you can win a GF without one. All our GF winning sides had one or two, like most sides that walk away as premiers. Got to ask, which of our props will lead us to a GF victory?

I think our buys over the last couple of seasons tell you that our cap is screwed… Brooks being the outlier but even he came cheap (for a half)…

I would say that beating off the knights for Sandwich, the lifetime Gauc contract, renewing our vows with the Preacher, the massive Koula upgrade and the looming upgrade for Hoppa (on top of Chez and multiple Turbos) means we will not be in the market for marquee players anytime soon…
Agree - the fact we have retained players is also a decent pointer but until there is a player on the market that is in demand there is no way of knowing if we are a "destination" club

What is that based on? I am not sure we have even been in the market for any players let alone lost out
Ok well off the top of my head last year we enquired about Angus Chrichton. He just said no end of story. We were chasing nathan brown yrs before he joined us, to no avail. Only came as his last resort. There are plenty of references out there just to early in the morninh to dig them up from the memory bank

I would take Lenui if we could make it happen…
I am with you feathered friend
Leniu is the Ultimate Enforcer . Who can Hit hard , who can run hard , who can offload , who can intimidate the opposition and who can Inspire his team mates
Still only 24 and still , developing, still maturing and still peaking to his powerhouse best

Just a reminder of what he is capable of
How much is he worth ?
He is worth Investing in the proven Premiership Winning Warrior

So one report which I could not find and a reference to years ago? I am talking about when we have been interested in a player or even lost a player we were keen to keep (which is a better guide for me)”

Angus was only last year. We also tried for Galvin. And im positive there is a number no one would finds references to.

Yes to Leniu.

I have a suspicion he might been keen to return to the riff thou, now that Cap space for a prop would exist with JFH departure.
There'd be no reason for him to come to Manly.

Consider that JFH left Penrith because he was homesick, not for cap reasons, you'd have to think Penrith have the spare coin. He can go back and play for the juggernaut with some of his best mates, or go to Manly for...money? I think he's already getting decent coin at the Roosters; must want to leave for another reason.

Madge rejected us, ran a **** show at the tigers, claimed origin and now has a genuine top 4 squad

I think he quoted instability at the top from memory

Don’t think he has top 4 squad to be honest Too much hype about the Broncos & not sure why. Looking at their squad compared to others & to me maybe a bottom of the top 8 squad. Walsh is a trick pony, Mam is nothing special, Carrigan & Hass their best. The rest nothing special…..just like the ad!

Yeah its all unknown and i love to bet against the donkeys but i feel they may be screwing with my happiness
Good hookers, experienced halves, mobile back rowers, i like that nugget hetherington
I reckon they might bounce back.
Origin might hurt them and walsh is gifted but i am also uncertain where he goes from here

Staggs is pretty inconsistent IMO but may be ready to have that year

Could be wrong but I think in part its just very hard to dominate games from the centre position. Especially when you become known as an attacking threat.
Staggs, Koula, even Manu, you don't often see them tearing teams to shreds, even though they have that ability.
These days it's at least as important for centres to be solid in defence, which most are (or they don't last too long)

Your last sentence aimed at anyone? With Staggs, it’s not so much his attacking flare for me, it’s the aggression he brings, no nonsense type, don’t see him throwing his arms in the air everywhere, pissing and moaning all game, just takes it to the ball carrier and runs with intent, I like it. Think Talau is our version of Kotoni and I’d have him first picked in our three quarter line for that very reason.

you dont need to dominate games, just your involvements and centres do more grunt work than ever before in both attack and defence

In saying that jesse ramien had a year i thought so its possible
