This could be a season defining win. Bye next week then 3 winnable games.

Bye
Cows
Drugcasle
TITans

Pretty sure the lawman started as a 7,

Not sure if its a switcheroo waiting to happen but i reckon he would be loving the idea of running the show. He will give it a crack

Be great if simpkins has a few kicks in his game today. Sorry dude, second week but we need you

With such a make shift side best concentrating in the basic plays, play the ball faster and try open up some of the bunnies doubts but they have enough footy to concern us still

And burgess loves playing us. All of them buggers seem to have been hard to handle ever since joe kelly delivered us lukewarm luke.

"Played in the halves as a junior"
Yep he did. He was also among the toughest junior five-eights I have seen in recent times. He always reminded me of Foran, especially how he would dig into the line, hold his passes until the last seconds, and inevitably take some big hits. Just remember he was a half well before he became a converted hooker. Lawton has been a victim of his own versatility in my opinion. I never understood why no coach has ever wanted to use him as a ball-playing lock/five-eight. Today I think Brooks will play the halfback role with Lawton playing as five-eight.

"In any other cases where clubs wanted to include a player at late notice they would have to apply to the NRL for a special exemption and outline their case.

This may include bringing in a player from outside the squad if someone in a specialist position such as halfback was injured at training and there was no logical replacement among the reserves."

There may yet be a sneaky switch to come. The fact that Humphreys isn't named in NSW cup is the thing that has me scratching my head.

Damn, I was just reminded we have a family 70th birthday dinner tonight !! I'll have to settle for a late night replay ...... lots of unknowns about this one, should be interesting GO MANLY

Probably going to need some big minutes from Condon , James and Navale and somehow are really going to have to aim up in defence . Navale seems to manage quite well in this area but will really require all three stepping up .
Guess can equally apply for Bully and Sipley in the defensive department and that Brown can temper his game sufficiently . Likely required to have big minutes tonight as well .
Lawton is a real competitor , big ask to adapt but as long as Brooksy can assume a reasonable leadership role , good chance of holding that part of Manly 's game together and to counter probably one of Souths obvious perceived strengths in the Walker - Wighton combo
No question Manly still have some serious strike ability in their backline but need the middle guys to at least hold their own .
Souths just like Manly have been going better recently , probably will try and exert as much pressure on Manly early on in particular but sure that Manly will make a fight of it and can take it up to them as well .
Hard game to predict with both sides down on troops , possibly the weather a factor as well ,
Like to think Manly still have a good enough line up to get up ,and the backs to the wall mentality from last week can largely continue . Give them a real good chance

Just on Souths, definitely improved form but they are not the powerhouse some seem to be making out.

Won 3 straight but the first was against a struggling Eels without Moses and Gutho. The second was the Titans and the 3rd a good win against the Broncos with Latrell on a tear.

No Latrell, no Murray.

Now don't get me wrong, they have definitely improved, are deserved favourites and we are certainly up against it.

But it is not a lay down misere. We are in it.
And in all those wins Latrell was their best player by some distance. Prior to Trells return they had lost 6 in a row.
