According to this article Hastings will probably play second half of the Roosters trial..he's still in contention and has had his best pre season. Put on 4kg and wakes up early . He sounds very keen.

I could see Hastings in the halfback roll, and DCE in the 5/8... I'd have no problem with that, and can see this working better than the other way around.

He is versatile and has experience at the NRL level steering sides around in the no. 7. I won’t be surprised to see him in the 6 this year. At the very least there is no reason why he shouldn’t be on the bench in place of Lewis Brown.

I still think there is a problem with Hastings and his team mates. Whether he is just a cocky smart ass, or rubbed the wrong people up the wrong way, I'm not sure. Hopefully he has sorted his attitude out because he is a talented player for sure. Definitely can't help that he is a ranga!
