Some question marks I have on things

Lyon - Why does Des persist in playing him in 5/8, it is clear he is not cut out for it in the NRL maybe in the UK SL but not the NRL. He is a Defensive centre, which stands to reason he will be a defensive 5/8 rather than ball playing one, which then means Orford has to do the majority of the work ball playing wise, and he is struggling himself at the moment, so why heap pressure on him in that regards. Burns is an equally good defender in 5/8 and has some ball playing skills. With Lyon there were play too wide and our centres are cramped and have to run in fields. Lets play him as a defensive centre and win games with him in defense

Matai - Nuff said

Orford - Start doing something you over -hyped, over-paid smurf. I am starting to actually think Sharpie was in the right for shipping you off, and it's a sad state of affairs when i am starting to think that Sharp was a good coach.......do something or **** off and give Groom a go.

Matai - Just had to bring it up again, our centres should be Lyon and Bell

Bell - Run forwards ****-knuckle

More to come when I finish with this client!

I would put Monaghan is 5/8th for the rest of the season.

Mainly because Orford would be the lesser of two evils at 7 than 6.

I would be happy with

7 - Orford
6 - Burns
9 - Monaghan/Ballin

FFS we are comming second in the competition what more do you want? It shows that Des knows more than any of us.

A team that doesnt lose to nuffies like the Panthers and Bulldogs

A decent 5/8 and matai out of the team

I thought I made what more i wanted clear in my post :stupid:

Lyon is an attacking centre first, defensive second.

We have to see some attack shortly, surely...

You think so?
So why is everyone of the opinion we have picked two Defensive centres for origin?

Because Lyon's attack is missing, somewhere so all it looks like he can do is defend.

It's starting to be a worry.

Therefore he should not be an attacking 5/8 so my point was right

Cool

Now whose head should roll?

Imo Lyon is a better 5/8 than Burns by a bigger margin than Lyon is a better centre than Matai.

I would just like to give Lyon a bit more time at 5/8 when all players are back on deck.

UP no way Burns can defend just as well and at least he gives out centres room to move.

I also can not believe you would say that matai is anywhere near the centre that Lyon is, there is so much daylight between them, a week passes by

Dan - it doesn't take rocket science to realise what Des is thinking:-

One of games best centres to 5/8
UP and coming SOO 5/8, to bench, and out of club all togther
In form 1/2 back to Hooker, and out of the club all together
Most prolific try scoring forward in game to centres
Clubs best Hooker to Premier League
Consistently injured and suspended player displacing other players in the off chance he plays.

LoL 8| 8| 8|

At least we could all see the idiocy of my call for Cuthbo on the wing for what it was !!! :blaugh:
If this season were on PS2, and I managed Manly, I'd hit the reset button, and play all the players now in their preferred & specialist positions.

MY team would be:-

01. Brett Stewart
02. Michael Robertson
03. Jamie Lyon
04. Steven Bell
05. Chris Hicks
06. Travis Burns
07. Matt Orford
08. Jason King
09. Matt Ballin
10. Brent Kite
11. Anthony Watmough
12. Steve Menzies
13. Ben Kennedy

14. Michael Monaghan
15. Glenn Hall
16. Mark Bryant
17. Glenn Stewart

Matai - you need to get some consistent matches under your belt before anyone is displaced in the 1st grade team to fit you in.
Willow - I know you bust your gut week in / week out, and it is appreciated, but we have to choose from these players:- Choc / Beaver / Kennedy / Stewart and you. Who would YOU choose?

As much as I try, I seriously doubt many clubs would be able to beat the side I have elected.

Lyon has not had enough uninteruppted time at 5/8 with all of our players on deck. So its premature to write him off in that position.

I dont think Matai is as good as Lyon but just closer in ability than the gap between Lyon & Burns

Burns at 5/8 has had Lyon & Bell to work with whilst Lyon at 5/8 has had Bell, Beaver & Neuman with a Bell & Matai pairing for only the Storm game, which we won.

I would like him to have a couple more games with Bell & matai in the centres is all.

Jatz, I don't discount Jamie Lyon as a 5/8. Like you, I know he'll come good. What erks me though, is that regardless of the 5/8 spot, he is such a damned good centre. Knows what to do. Knows where to be.

Don't know mate.

I also think the jury is out on: Inglis (the best of the moved centres), and Gasnier. I just don't think these moves work, unless your someone like Darren Lickyher

Yeah but for that to happen we have to do the worst thing i can think of and that is allow matai into the team

Don't fear Dan, he'll either be injured, suspended, or on the sideline for off field issues for the rest of this year at least.
