A month a go one of the players said matai is definitely goneski, and with Brett even the team was In The dark not even they knew at that stage but he didn't expect him to come back personally

Last year we weren't better with TT, his organizational skills/experience were non existent and the was a marked improvement when Brett came back.

I would still back Brett to deliver a better defensive unit

Good point. Tommy T's potential is huge but he still has a lot to learn. We relied on his individual brilliance a lot last season but he wasn't always switched on defensively. Snake could still teach him a thing or two. Whether he can do it on the field is another question.

Our defence wasn't particularly good when Snake first started his regular stint at fullback, over a decade ago.

Turbo will learn the skill to read the plays and communicate to the front line, like every other player previous has had to.

usually learnt prior to becoming a first grader ... not saying TT is not a first grader ... of course he is ... but agree that he still has a lot to learn regarding organizing the defense from the back

He is better suited as a soccer goalie. No-one would be able to get the ball past his forehead

TT's skills defensively are knowhere near Snake's, but they're on par with what Snake's were at the same age.
As others have mentioned, defensively we were awful as a team last year, just awful. So Tom not having adequate organisational skills, or Jorge not being able to catch ect, bothers me far less. Improving our defence this year, is one of the key elements if we are to make the top 8.
