Siro !!!

He was out most of the game but during the time he was on do you think he was dominant ?. Do we have back rowers that can consistently crack over the 100 metre mark ?
He is apparently a leader, and is enthusiastic. His impact isn't all physical, we need him. The other second-row could be occupied by a player who applies himself more and physically try to run over the top of people but I think every successful side needs a second-rower of sironen's style. Siro strengthens our defence dramatically and hits hard in both attack and defence, he isn't a slouch but could get involved a little more as you alluded to

I would rather a forward leader who leads consistently by dominating the field with over 150metres a game and not just 70m . IMO

That's probably what we need the other second-rower to be. It's all about balancing as I said in another thread, talent, power, speed and grit. We can have a massive forward pack although we still need a point of difference otherwise we'll end up like the dogs with their massive, but useless and predictable pack. Siro is different, he uses his talent with some good offloads and uses his speed as a weapon by cutting back infield at direct angles to test the middle forwards of the opposition. His point of difference livened our attack up last week and we looked dangerous in the elimination final as well, although that didn't show on the scoreboard as we were robbed of two tries. Winterstein is the one that needs to have more of a workload, however, lacked in effort and often found himself with less metres than his partnering second-rower. Siro makes our defence so much better

So, Winterstein could be replaced in the starting side with a hard working forward and be shifted to the bench to become a stabilising style of player off the bench as he does very little wrong

I can see where your coming from but Sirro needs to live off more than his potential and make more progress for mine as his stats this year are ; Ave off loads per game 1.6, Runs per game 8 and line breaks 0.31 . I am not a fan of any forward that averages 70 metre gain per game . No forwards in SOO games gains 70 metres a 80 minute game and holds his spot.

Definitely can get some more runs in, I'm very happy with how his seems to plug holes in our defence and enthuse the players in attack. But he can certainly get more than 70m a game, excited to see him improve over the years at manly
